Information about MeetBot at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology. 11:32 <meetingology> 11:32 <meetingology> Available commands: action commands idea info link nick 11:32 <JMulholland> how are you gents? 11:32 <faenil> o/ 11:32 <popey> Super. 11:33 <DanChapman> JMulholland, nice! I'm good thanks. 11:34 <DanChapman> Hey faenil o/ 11:35 <popey> So, where shall we start? 11:35 <popey> I have one item :) 11:35 <DanChapman> Fire away... 11:36 <popey> Pat mentioned to me late yesterday that we've seen some people talking about dekko crashes 11:36 <popey> A few dropped by irc, and I think there was one on the mailing list too. 11:36 <popey> Seems we mostly tell people to delete caches to get them runnng again 11:36 <popey> Do we have a handle on why those crashes occur? 11:37 <popey> I notice that they will result in crash dumps landing at errors.ubuntu.com ( saw one from dholbach's phone last week ) 11:38 <popey> I wonder if we could get that data out into bug reports, whether that would help? 11:38 <DanChapman> If it's on app launch then it's probably a rogue lock file https://bugs.launchpad.net/dekko/+bug/1587798. If it's during the imap conversation then it's caused by trojita trying to use an invalid pointer but i can't fix that as that code no longer exists 11:39 <popey> hah 11:39 <popey> "fixed" 😃 11:40 <DanChapman> Indeed, those crashes during fetches should go away in the next release or at worst it will crash the message server process and not the app 11:40 <DanChapman> which the message server just get's restarted 11:41 <DanChapman> But in general it's *alot* more stable than previous releases 11:41 <popey> Ok, good to hear. 11:42 <DanChapman> I tend to get alot of bug reports about dekko not starting after an OTA. What could cause that as nothing has changed in dekko itself 11:42 <DanChapman> *if it's not lock file related 11:42 <DanChapman> Is it a qml cache thing or something? 11:43 <popey> I don't know, seems mostly we use the brute force approach 11:43 <popey> delete the cache and reset the app 11:45 <popey> But good to know the new version is more stable :) 11:46 <DanChapman> Ah ok. 11:46 <popey> Which obviously leads to the next question ㋛ 11:48 <faenil> hehe 11:48 <DanChapman> heh! I'm part way through implementing the contacts support using the system contacts directly. But there's still a few days of work on that then it's finish off the setup wizard. So a "couple of weeks (tm)". 11:49 <popey> -_- 11:49 <popey> Is there anything someone else can help you with? 11:49 <DanChapman> https://launchpad.net/dekko/+milestone/1.0-beta you can see all the fixed bugs for the next release. I'm going to move some of the backlogged ones to the next milestone 11:50 <popey> look at all those fix committed! 11:50 * popey sorts the list the other way up, looks nicer 11:51 <DanChapman> if someone is willing to help with the setup wizard that would be super handy :-) But there's not many core-apps devs about these days :-( 11:52 <popey> Well, Bartsz pinged me this morning asking if there's anything that needs doing 11:52 <popey> *Bartosz 11:52 <popey> Shall I point him in your direction? 11:53 <DanChapman> oh! yes please! that would be great. Get him to send me an email dpniel at ubuntu.com or point him at the telegram group 11:56 <popey> will do both :) 11:56 <DanChapman> thanks :-) 11:57 <DanChapman> I've got to run. Got to pick little one up from playgroup. 11:57 <DanChapman> Thanks guys! 11:57 <faenil> o/ 11:57 <popey> ok! 11:57 <faenil> take care 11:58 <popey> Thanks guys! 11:58 <popey> #endmeeting
