13:04 <popey> #startmeeting Dekko meeting 13:04 <meetingology> Meeting started Thu Feb 12 13:04:34 2015 UTC. The chair is popey. Information about MeetBot at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology. 13:04 <meetingology> 13:04 <meetingology> Available commands: action commands idea info link nick 13:04 <popey> how we doing then? 13:05 <DanChapman> doing good. About half hour ago successfully got qca installed and working from within the click package for all arch's so we can now move on to support s/mime & encrypted messages, so that's a good step forward 13:06 <popey> Excellent. 13:07 <DanChapman> boren's been adding some nice features & fixes aswell which are nice. 13:08 * DanChapman is trying to find bill's feedback document 13:09 <DanChapman> it's hiding from me 13:09 <boren_> https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RT8aOUnJ6rC1bgC07zMdhbBgSejQSHhVQhPwaQTBi5g/edit#heading=h.8skl5jzcxiy9 13:09 <DanChapman> thanks boren_ :-) 13:10 <popey> On the subject of that document, do you still use trello for tracking tasks? 13:12 <popey> The reason I ask is that we have had a couple of people ask about getting involved 13:12 <DanChapman> popey: it sort of died as it doesn't get used, i think it's too awkward going between lp and trello and getting the workflow right. I'dlike to use it though 13:12 <popey> And it would be good if we could point hem to somewhere to know what to work on 13:12 <popey> yeah, it can be a burdon 13:13 <popey> burden? 13:13 <DanChapman> wow my responses may be slow got a lag of 20.3 s 13:13 <popey> hah 13:13 <popey> so best to point people at the bugs that we have outstanding, right? 13:14 <DanChapman> ohh really... well it won't take much to get trello going again we cleared alot of bugs in the last release, boren are you happyto use it instead of lp bugs/issues and move them across to trello as they come in? 13:15 <DanChapman> Be great to have more involved 13:15 <boren_> DanChapman: Yeah, sure 13:15 <popey> I don't mind what you use, bugs are fine by me. 13:15 <DanChapman> i think for newcomers something like trello makes it easier to jump in, even i still finding getting round launchpad a bit of a noghtmare 13:15 <DanChapman> nightmare 13:15 <popey> just a bit of extra work for you 13:16 <DanChapman> i might setup a little bot that forwards dekko bug mail to trello cards, i believe they still support email for trello cards 13:17 <popey> sounds fun :) 13:17 <DanChapman> :-) 13:19 <DanChapman> So for the addressbook integration we can apparently import them as a .vcf file. So do we create an actual internal addressbook feature or just use the vcf file like we use our internal recent contacts list? 13:20 <popey> I think it could be painful if you pull each contact at once. 13:20 <popey> Would be nice if you could of course pull in just one contact at the point of creating the mail 13:20 <popey> however, it might be useful to en-masse pull all contacts in (if that's possible) 13:21 <popey> I can see it getting old very quickly if you have to go through content hub every time you create a mail? 13:21 <DanChapman> popey: we get no type ahead that way :-( the only way atm is to multi-select to import them it should come as a single .vcf with them all in 13:21 <popey> right 13:22 <DanChapman> But then you have to go through the pain of every time you add a new contact you have to re-import to see it in dekko. It's proper awkward 13:22 <DanChapman> i still think there should be a readonly contacts sdk component. 13:24 <popey> hmmm 13:25 <popey> what if there was a "sync contacts" (which is crap) which pulls all contacts via contact hub 13:26 <DanChapman> popey: yeah that could work 13:27 <popey> I can't think of a reasonable other way to do it. 13:27 <popey> If we had an "import contacts from contacts-app" button we could pull them in en-masse each time. 13:29 <DanChapman> No me neither, that's the only real solution without having direct access to EDS. anyother way is going to just be awkward 13:30 <DanChapman> although it would be nice to be able to import them on app start to keep it updated (Given user permission that is) 13:31 <popey> yeah. persistent permission granted once? 13:32 <DanChapman> yes i wouldsay so but can be revoked at any time in app settings 13:33 <popey> would need input from design for the ui for it. 13:34 <DanChapman> ok then, does a bug need filing for design? or is that one for gventuri & tiheum? 13:36 <popey> i would file a bug and mark it as needs-design and we can poke gventuri about it 13:38 <DanChapman> also how should the sharing workflow work? Like if i'm in the we-browser and i want to share a link obviously dekko would open to the composer but should dekko close again after sending to return to where the user was? Is that how others do it? i havn't tested it out 13:38 <DanChapman> popey: okeydoke 13:40 <popey> no, i wouldn't close 13:40 <popey> let the user deal with that. 13:40 <popey> once the mail is gone, you can swipe out to the other app 13:42 <DanChapman> ok then. I'll make a note of that. 13:43 <DanChapman> boren_ anything you want to discuss? 13:44 * DanChapman just checked users since last friday. 210!! interest has definately picked up for the phone 13:45 <popey> :) 13:45 <popey> thats what we like to see 13:45 <boren_> DanChapman: No technical ones. 13:46 <DanChapman> boren_: just design? 13:47 <boren_> DanChapman: I am reading the message view feedback. I think I can figure it out myself. 13:49 <DanChapman> boren_: awesome! 13:49 <popey> Ok, anything else? 13:50 <DanChapman> not from me, i'll add file a bug for the contacts stuff, also need to add one for handling gpg certificates 13:54 <popey> ok. Nice one. Thanks guys. 13:54 <popey> let me know if you need anything from me 13:54 <popey> #endmeeting
