Information about MeetBot at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/meetingology. 13:04 <meetingology> 13:04 <meetingology> Available commands: action commands idea info link nick 13:04 <popey> How are things going? 13:04 <DanChapman> ok cool i'll ping him later then 13:04 <DanChapman> Stressful :-D rather massive change needed for the message view. 13:05 <DanChapman> apart from that progress is good. We have the new icons now and they look sweet :-) 13:05 <popey> Yeah, I liked the look of your mockup 13:05 <popey> oh! 13:05 <popey> that's awesome 13:05 <popey> from mattheiu? 13:06 <DanChapman> yeah he emailed me a load of them as he said it's a real pain to get them released on launchpad 13:07 <DanChapman> So I plan to get a click done by tomorrow with these new message vie wchanges but i will need some heavy testing done on it, could you spread a message round once it is ready? 13:08 <DanChapman> But i don't want it to be a released version in the store as there will be bugs in it that i havn't found yet 13:09 <popey> I certainly can. 13:09 <popey> you could put a "beta" label on it ㋛ 13:11 <popey> We could put it on my peopole.canonical.com space and I can spam it about 13:11 <popey> to get wider testing 13:11 <popey> as we did with Music and friends? 13:11 <popey> Would that be suitable? 13:11 <DanChapman> popey: yeah that sounds like a good idea 13:12 <DanChapman> hey boren 13:12 <boren> Hi DanChapman 13:12 <popey> heya 13:13 <popey> when do you think you'll have a click? 13:13 <popey> I'll be offline most of tomorrow - monday as I'll be at fosdem 13:13 <DanChapman> popey: tomorrow afternoon i would say. Ahh ok so that's a bit awkward :-) 13:14 <popey> no, it's fine. 13:14 <popey> if you ping me a link on irc I will send a mail when I get there. 13:14 <DanChapman> Ok great i'll do that then 13:15 <popey> Be good to draw attention to the differences between it and the one in the store. 13:15 <popey> things for users to look out for. 13:15 <DanChapman> boren, how is the composer coming along? 13:16 <DanChapman> Yes there is quite a difference. Will be good to get feedback on it 13:17 <boren> DanChapman: I have almost finished working on attachment button, simple address hint. And I am thinking about implementing switching identities next 13:19 <DanChapman> boren, awesome do you think you could get the attachments and address hints up for review before tomorrow afternoon? be good to get that in 13:20 <boren> DanChapman: yes, I am working on it now. 13:20 <DanChapman> boren nice one! 13:21 <DanChapman> popey: what framework should we be targeting at the moment still ubuntu-sdk-14.10-qml? or 15.04? 13:21 <popey> yes, 14.10 13:21 <DanChapman> cool 13:21 <popey> krillin will ship (next week - eek) with 14.10 13:21 <DanChapman> thanks 13:21 <popey> we will look to move to vivid really quickly 13:21 <popey> maybe as soon as march 13:22 <DanChapman> oh wow! ok that is quick 13:23 <popey> so next friday some people will get devices, then soon after they will be available to buy online 13:23 <DanChapman> popey: and did you say public availability is a couple of weeks after the launch event 13:23 <popey> yeah 13:23 <popey> something like that 13:23 <DanChapman> coolio 13:23 * DanChapman needs to hide some money from the misses so he can buy one 13:23 <popey> hahah 13:24 <popey> you have a nexus 4 though, right? 13:24 <DanChapman> yeah got nexus 4 13:24 <boren> Ship US? 13:24 <popey> I don't know boren 13:25 <popey> If they don't then I imagine people will start asking favours of us :) 13:25 <DanChapman> :-) 13:26 <boren> I wish I am in Europe 13:27 <DanChapman> Right so i was having some issues the other day trying to work out application state handling, so when the app goes into the background do we just flick it into offline mode, if so that causes havoc bringing and back to the front and reconnecting as it reset all the models. But if we don't set it offline then you get the same kind of effect but with loads of network error dialogs 13:28 <DanChapman> s/bringing and back/bringing it back 13:29 <popey> Are you able to detect the fact that you've been suspended? 13:29 <popey> (I don't know if there's an API for that, or some signal) 13:30 <boren> Will we have a off-line mode the application is running? 13:30 <boren> Will we have a off-line mode when the application is running? 13:32 <DanChapman> popey: yes you have a very brief period maybe 1 second at most to save your state before you get suspended. So that's where i was trying to flick it into offline mode. But because we default to the inbox view now when bringing the app back forward and reconnecting the models get reset and view goes blank. So do we just leave it on-line supress and errors on re-activation/re-connect or do we toggle offline online, either way we will 13:32 <DanChapman> end up with a black msglist 13:32 <DanChapman> boren, i have a patch for that here, i thought i had pushed it to launchpad 13:33 <DanChapman> man my typing sucks today. New keyboard for christmas still not used to it 13:34 <popey> should you maybe delay refreshing the models until the user triggers it with pull-down refresh maybe? 13:35 <popey> or is that out of your control? 13:37 <DanChapman> It's something i havn't yet been able to overcome. As all message counts get invalidated on each new connection which then in turn pulls in all new message headers. It's a real pain. I wonder if we can get a signal to the UI to say this models about to dissapear you need to get ready to reload this page or something. 13:38 <popey> Might be worth bringing this up on the phone mailing list 13:38 <popey> I can't imagine you're the only one with this problem. 13:39 <DanChapman> ok i'll d that then, it would be ok if we could run the core as a daemon or something but we just can't with confinement :-( 13:40 <popey> yeah, this needs raising on the list. 13:41 <DanChapman> okeydoke, i'll type one up this afternoon 13:41 <popey> Magic. 13:41 <popey> I'll poke people to reply if you don't get one 13:41 <DanChapman> Forbidden per policy: QUrl( "trojita-imap:///0/1" ) << boren you seen that before? is it oxide or QNAM? 13:41 <DanChapman> popey: excellent thanks! 13:42 <DanChapman> popey: who's the go to guy for the html sdk? I have some parts i need help with 13:44 <DanChapman> boren ahh found it. it's in MspartNetAccessManager 13:44 <boren> DanChapman: you missed the "msg" host 13:44 <popey> DanChapman: dbarth I think. 13:44 <DanChapman> ahh so i did :-D 13:44 <popey> he's around on irc 13:45 <DanChapman> popey: ok great thanks 13:45 <popey> Ok, anything else? 13:46 <DanChapman> Not from me. Just got to crack on atm 13:46 <popey> :) 13:47 <boren> No from me 13:47 <DanChapman> great so i will give you a ping tomorrow with a click to share round. Do you need the manifests changing to people.canonical.com in the click? 13:48 <DanChapman> oh it like people.ubuntu.com 13:48 <DanChapman> ignore that 13:48 <popey> no 13:48 <popey> just make a valid click file 13:48 <popey> I will put it on my people.canonical.com web space that's all 13:48 <popey> so people can get it easily 13:48 <popey> (we have some people who can't get at shared files on Google drive for example) 13:49 <DanChapman> sure thing 13:50 <popey> Excellent. Thanks chaps. 13:50 <popey> #endmeeting
