19:04 <mwhudson> no we don't have an agenda i think
19:04 <rbasak> #topic Missing wiki
19:04 <rbasak> OK, so maybe that should be our first topic then. How/where do we want to manage our meetings now?
19:05 <seb128> there is a new wiki, I hope they have a backup of the recent content and just screwed something
19:05 <mwhudson> we could continue to use the new wiki or we could use discourse i guess
19:06 <rbasak> I'm not keen on moving to new Canonical-hosted infrastructure. They haven't been good stewards of essential Ubuntu infrastructure recently. Uptime has been poor, not accurately reported on status pages, and they ignore tickets.
19:06 <rbasak> Given we're being forced to make a choice, let's not rely any more on it than we have to for the time being please.
19:06 <seb128> either new wiki or discourse are Canonical hosted
19:07 <seb128> do you have an alternative?
19:07 <rbasak> Maybe a Google doc?
19:07 <rbasak> I'm open to more suggestions.
19:08 <rbasak> I just have far more confidence that a Google doc will be more reliable.
19:08 <seb128> also yes state of the Canonical infra sucks, $company-leads and $IS are well aware and trying to fix the situation, but that's not easy and they are understaffed so probably going to take a while before we see real improvements :/
19:08 <seb128> is discourse unstable? it seems to be mostly working from my perspective but I'm not using it all day long
19:09 <rbasak> How about we agree to a Google doc as a very low effort, quick to set up alternative for the time being as a stop gap, while we figure out where to go after that, if anything?
19:09 <rbasak> Discourse has been better recently, but I used to see regular reports of it being unavailable. It's also dependent on Ubuntu SSO.
19:10 <seb128> I'm fine using Google Doc for now if we really distrust the Canonical infra at this point
19:10 <seb128> I know that's a topic being actively discussed, so while things get sorted out (hopefully) that would ok
19:10 <seb128> be ok
19:10 <mwhudson> google doc is fine, i think discourse is Reliable Enough (tm) tbh but i don't mind
19:10 <rbasak> If you both would prefer Discourse and are willing to drive getting something set up there, transferring the old agenda etc, then I'm OK with that. Personally I'd prefer a Google Doc for the time being.
19:11 <rbasak> The DMB agenda is on Discourse FWIW.
19:12 <rbasak> Let's make a decision and move on. I'm: 1) Google Doc; 2) Discourse. Please state your preferences and we'll go with the majority.
19:13 <mwhudson> i'm also fine with a google doc i guess. feels like a low stakes decision
19:13 <mwhudson> let's go with a google doc for now?
19:13 <rbasak> OK does anyone want to volunteer setting that up in time for the next meeting please?
19:13 <seb128> google doc until someone has time/energy to set up something in discourse and then we can revisit?
19:13 <rbasak> +1
19:14 <rbasak> This certainly doesn't need to be permanent.
19:14 <mwhudson> i am on leave for 50% of the time between now and next meeting so i'd rather not commit to things
19:16 <rbasak> #agreed We will use a Google Doc to manage the meeting as a stop gap until we have made a decision on where to go next
19:16 <meetingology> AGREED: We will use a Google Doc to manage the meeting as a stop gap until we have made a decision on where to go next
19:16 <rbasak> #action rbasak to set up Google Doc
19:16 * meetingology rbasak to set up Google Doc
19:16 <rbasak> #topic Mailing list posts
19:16 <rbasak> (without the agenda doc I'm just going with what I remember needs discussion)
19:17 <rbasak> #subtopic Aaron's suggestion on Easter Eggs
19:17 <mwhudson> you can see the actions from last meeting in the link i posted before the meeting started
19:17 <rbasak> Ah sorry OK. How about I do that after this topic?
19:17 <mwhudson> sure
19:18 <mwhudson> easter eggs > i don't know. i do think easter eggs like this should generally be discouraged. i don't know that an ubuntu TB proclamation helps in any way
19:18 <rbasak> So my opinion on this is that Ubuntu Developers already have the latitude to distro patch what they think is appropriate, especially from the perspective of user experience, so I'm not sure the TB needs to make a decision here. Consensus amongst Ubuntu developers should be fine, and maybe that's a discussion that should happen first.
19:19 <mwhudson> i think i agree
19:20 <rbasak> Any opinion Seb?
19:20 <seb128> Agreed
19:21 <seb128> I don't think the TB needs to rule on that
19:21 <rbasak> Anyone want to volunteer to reply to Aaron?
19:21 <seb128> I guess I can do that, you both already have action items and I don't have any atm :)
19:21 <rbasak> Thanks!
19:21 <seb128> np!
19:21 <rbasak> #action seb128 to reply to Aaron with the TB's agreed response
19:21 * meetingology seb128 to reply to Aaron with the TB's agreed response
19:22 <rbasak> #topic Action Items
19:22 <rbasak> michael to prod ernest internally to reply to Nick's comments
19:22 <rbasak> I saw some comments from Ernest I think
19:22 <mwhudson> i did this (about 12h ago) and he has commented. i haven't looked at the comments yet
19:22 <rbasak> ack
19:22 <rbasak> I think it's up to the SRU team to respond now, so nothing for the TB for the time being?
19:23 <rbasak> michael to draft a reply to the mail about extrepo for discussion
19:23 <mwhudson> i think so?
19:23 <mwhudson> i haven't done this yet, will try to do it before next meeting
19:23 <rbasak> #action (carried over) michael to draft a reply to the mail about extrepo for discussion
19:23 * meetingology (carried over) michael to draft a reply to the mail about extrepo for discussion
19:24 <rbasak> #topic Check up on community bugs and techboard bugs (standing item)
19:24 <rbasak> #info No new TB bug activity
19:24 <mwhudson> i guess the wiki backup has the links still ...
19:24 <rbasak> #info No new community bug activity
19:24 <mwhudson> but i don' tthink there has been any acitivty
19:25 <rbasak> FTR https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-community/+bugs?field.assignee=techboard and https://bugs.launchpad.net/techboard from my browser history
19:25 <rbasak> #topic AOB
19:25 <rbasak> AOB? Any other items from the missing agenda that I missed?
19:26 <mwhudson> i think the next meeting will be at 8am for me (between NZ summer time starting and UK summer time ending), which is a pretty awkward time
19:26 <rbasak> ack
19:26 <mwhudson> next meeting after that is during canonical roadmap sprint
19:26 <rbasak> teward: please let us know your availability; if neither of you two can make it, it'd be good to know in advance so we can skip
19:26 <mwhudson> the one after that is after uk summer time ends so will be 9am (a better time for me)
19:27 <rbasak> I guess we're done then.
19:27 <rbasak> #endmeeting
