I guess if you think Server team should be responsible in the long term, let's discuss it on MM PTP channel? 14:42 I remember being involved in that v4l2-relayd MIR 14:42 can't recall the details, though 14:43 ok, it might help to show if it was discussed there if that team has established as owning team for packages 14:43 I've reached out to didrocks directly as well 14:43 ahresse: was that perhaps a copy-paste from a server-team MIR and not completely scrubbed? 14:43 going on here ... 14:44 #topic Incomplete bugs / questions 14:44 Mission: Identify required actions and spread the load among the teams 14:44 #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/?field.searchtext=&orderby=-date_last_updated&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir 14:45 @snarnold, the initial MIR was started by me but we don't have enough bandwith in our team to actually maintain linuxptp. So we eneded up giving the responsibility to Industrial team. Indus team reviewed this MIR and should be the main POC for next steps. 14:45 I remember waveform told he continued working on the nbd MIR, but the bug does not seem to be updated, yet. So he might not be fully ready 14:46 yep slyon 14:46 but he'll see the highlight and can fix that until next week 14:46 correct, not ready yet I'm afraid, but it is in progress 14:46 ahresse: thanks for the answer, I think I need to talk to the industrial team to get this sorted then 14:46 the only new in there is 14:46 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/highway/+bug/2070807 14:47 which is soon coming, but not ready yet 14:47 all ok no action needed AFAICS 14:47 and related to the libxl we had above 14:47 #topic Process/Documentation improvements 14:47 Mission: Review pending process/documentation pull-requests or issues 14:47 yes, still in stub stage. 14:47 #link https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/pulls 14:47 #link https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/issues 14:47 two old cases that are stalled 14:47 ok with that 14:48 ahresse: btw most irc clients will complete nicknames with a tab :) eg sar --> sarnold 14:48 the one we might be able to do something about is https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/issues/55 14:48 Just out of interest what needs to be done to unstall https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-mir/pull/17 14:49 dviererbe: managers saying they have the capacity to even do 1% of it without a heart attack 14:49 makes sense 14:49 on 55, as I said in the past 14:50 the ownership of this concrete case is sorted out between CPC and us 14:50 helping to reduce the nimbus state this was caused by 14:50 what is left open is what we should do about that in general 14:50 wrt #55 I was wondering if we should have some mechanism to "flag" certain packages? e.g. using a tag on LP, that is regularly reviewed by the MIR team and responsilble teams are poked about outdated packages? 14:50 like more documentation, communication, rules on "how early things should be2 14:50 I was stumbling upon tftp-hpa today, which seemed pretty unmaintainer and would be worth flagging (and poking the server team about ;-) ) 14:51 outch :-) 14:51 TBH, just do a comment on a bug or create one - the owning team's process (whatever it is in detail) should pick that up 14:51 If we try to standardize on a tag we just need to convince everybody to care about the tag 14:52 if a team owns a package they are expected to watch bugs 14:52 so just creating/updating one should do it 14:52 true 14:52 but this requires someone to notice the package might be stale 14:52 And with saying something like that we should also close out #55 for now IMHO 14:52 sarnold: true, but unless someone has a magic proposal how to do that ... 14:52 worthwhile we can :) but I think we should still be thikning about what part of our process could better spot packages that are losing favor 14:53 we can leave it open if you like, but I've not seen/hear anyone with capacity or a simple solution to do it 14:53 (I swear I'm a native english speaker, sheesh) 14:53 hehe 14:53 ok then, let us keep it open - but maybe state clearly that it is stuck for capacity and that a desire would be such a process as outlined by sarnold 14:54 wfm, thanks 14:54 #topic MIR related Security Review Queue 14:54 Mission: Check on progress, do deadlines seem doable? 14:54 Some clients can only work with one, some with the other escaping - the URLs point to the same place. 14:54 #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security/+bugs?field.searchtext=%5BMIR%5D&assignee_option=choose&field.assignee=ubuntu-security&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir 14:54 #link https://bugs.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-security/+bugs?field.searchtext=[MIR]&assignee_option=choose&field.assignee=ubuntu-security&field.bug_reporter=&field.bug_commenter=&field.subscriber=ubuntu-mir 14:54 Internal link 14:54 - ensure your teams items are prioritized among each other as you'd expect 14:54 - ensure community requests do not get stomped by teams calling for favors too much 14:54 #link https://warthogs.atlassian.net/jira/software/c/projects/SEC/boards/594 14:54 sarnold: you said you lost some reviewing power - how are things going? 14:54 cpaelzer: not real well, I haven't had a chance to talk to our director about our resourcing in the last week 14:55 cpaelzer: no progress on any individual review, and no progress on the larger problem 14:55 he's back this week, have fun once time permits 14:55 exactly, 1:1 in a few hours :) 14:55 ok, waiting for that outcome then 14:55 #topic Any other business? 14:55 nothing here 14:55 none here 14:55 Last week you discussed how the MIR could fit into the UPG 14:56 sarnold: just an update from last weeks meeting regarding high level docs. dviererbe shared this: https://canonical-ubuntu-packaging-guide.readthedocs-hosted.com/en/latest/explanation/main-inclusion-review/ 14:56 dviererbe, slyon, awesome :D thanks 14:57 nice 14:57 thanks dviererbe 14:57 If you would like to see any changes than just open an issue or PR. 14:57 more and more of UPG takes shape, I appreciate seeing that 14:58 anything else to bring up? 14:58 nothing else 14:58 ok then, A002193 14:58 2 14:58 4 14:58 1 14:58 4 14:58 1 14:59 #endmeeting
