15:01 <bluesabre> #chair pleia2
15:01 <meetingology> Current chairs: bluesabre pleia2
15:01 <bluesabre> knome can't make it, or elfy, micahg, and probably ochosi
15:02 <bluesabre> so this will probably be a short meeting at best
15:02 * pleia2 nods
15:03 <bluesabre> pleia2, do you want to lead the meeting, this is new to me :D
15:03 * pleia2 just woke up
15:03 <pleia2> :)
15:03 <bluesabre> I can just paste the things knome usually posts :)
15:03 * pleia2 opens last meeting log
15:04 <bluesabre> #topic Items carried on
15:04 <bluesabre> #subtopic Open action items from previous meeting

15:04 <pleia2> I had one with gridcube to start social media stuff for the desktop wallpaper submissions
15:04 <pleia2> but I haven't heard from him about that yet
15:05 <bluesabre> cool, its been neat to see progress on that stuff :)
15:05 <bluesabre> #info A new app for setting user profile image and details: Mugshot

15:07 <bluesabre> Do we want something like this in xubuntu?
15:07 <pleia2> #action pleia2 and GridCube prepare the social media broadcasting for desktop showcase
15:07 * meetingology pleia2 and GridCube prepare the social media broadcasting for desktop showcase
15:08 <pleia2> so the installer used to have (still has?) the thing where it takes your picture
15:08 <pleia2> is that what this is meant to address?
15:08 <bluesabre> yeah, but there is no way to change it after you install
15:08 <pleia2> ah, gotcha
15:08 <bluesabre> and since lightdm-gtk-greeter now supports and shows user profile images, it makes it easy to change that
15:09 <pleia2> I think it's a good idea
15:09 <pleia2> even chromeos has one, and it's barely got anything :)
15:09 <bluesabre> :D
15:10 <bluesabre> #action bluesabre to discuss with team possible inclusion of mugshot
15:10 * meetingology bluesabre to discuss with team possible inclusion of mugshot
15:10 <bluesabre> since nobody is here :D
15:11 <pleia2> yeah :)
15:11 <bluesabre> #action bluesabre to possibly coordinate testing mugshot with elfy
15:11 * meetingology bluesabre to possibly coordinate testing mugshot with elfy
15:11 <lderan-work> :P
15:12 <bluesabre> anything else for previous action items?
15:13 <pleia2> seems like that's it
15:13 <bluesabre> #topic Team updates
15:13 <bluesabre> other than mugshot, nothing new from me since last week
15:13 <bluesabre> ochosi has been working on a new alt-tab switcher update for 4.12
15:13 <pleia2> #info We now have stickers available for shipment worldwide via Unixstickers.com
15:13 <pleia2> #link http://www.unixstickers.com/xubuntu
15:14 <bluesabre> yay!
15:14 <pleia2> they've been awesome :)
15:14 <bluesabre> I'll order some when I get paid tomorrow
15:14 <pleia2> in return they'll be sending me stickers every so often (usually they do profit sharing, but it's difficult for us to accept)
15:14 <pleia2> so sticker sharing!
15:15 <bluesabre> thats pretty awesome
15:15 <bluesabre> #info ochosi has been working on a new alt-tab switcher update for 4.12
15:16 <bluesabre> and I don't know what anyone else has been up to
15:16 <pleia2> #info knome has been working on some theme improvements to xubuntu.org
15:16 <bluesabre> thats exciting
15:16 <pleia2> #info we're launching our "Xubuntu at..." series of interviews with orgs using Xubuntu tomorrow
15:17 <pleia2> if anyone has suggestions on orgs to interview, let me know :)
15:17 <lderan-work> ooo that is cool
15:18 <bluesabre> I'll probably bug folks on g+ about that
15:18 <bluesabre> anything else? did we talk about the SRU docs update at the last meeting?
15:19 <pleia2> oh
15:20 <pleia2> yeah we did, I did a call for writing them
15:20 <bluesabre> cool
15:20 <pleia2> #info jjfrv8 has been doing great work on the backport of 12.04 docs, we're on schedule to complete by Aug 1st
15:20 <bluesabre> \o?
15:20 <bluesabre> \o/
15:21 <bluesabre> ready to move to announcements?
15:21 <slickymaster_> pleia2, sorry if it's off-topic, but in the last meeting it was decided, regarding the Mir tests in a VM setup to report any bugs/crashes to you. How do we do that, through the mailing list?
15:22 <pleia2> slickymaster_: so we've already finished that - collecting info was for a report sent to the list and Jono to get some eyeballs of a Mir developer on it
15:22 <pleia2> https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/xubuntu-devel/2013-July/009101.html
15:23 <pleia2> unfortunately we haven't heard anything back yet :( so for now I think testing is paused until we can get some kind of feedback on how to move forwards
15:23 <pleia2> -s
15:23 <slickymaster_> pleia2, OK. Thanks, anyway
15:24 <slickymaster_> pleia2, yes and the clock is ticking
15:24 <pleia2> slickymaster_: thank you though! your efforts will be valuable in the very near future :)
15:24 <pleia2> I should probably follow up with Unit193's email, it's been almost a week
15:24 <pleia2> #action pleia2 to follow up with Mir email asking for an update
15:24 * meetingology pleia2 to follow up with Mir email asking for an update
15:24 <slickymaster_> pleia2, you're welcome
15:25 <bluesabre> anything else for team updates?
15:26 <pleia2> I think that's it :)
15:26 <bluesabre> #topic Announcements
15:26 <bluesabre> anything to add here?
15:27 <pleia2> nothing from me
15:28 <bluesabre> me either
15:28 <lderan-work> same
15:29 <bluesabre> moving on...
15:29 <bluesabre> #topic New and emerging items
15:29 <bluesabre> #subtopic Proposal for more structured handling of Xubuntu bugs
15:29 <bluesabre> I figured this one is postponed until next meeting
15:30 <pleia2> skellat: sent a note to the list
15:30 <pleia2> but now I can't find it in the archives O_o
15:31 <pleia2> I think something changed with mailing list archives, they used to show up pretty much immediately but now they're lagged a lot
15:31 <pleia2> I'll pastebin it for now
15:32 <pleia2> #link http://paste.ubuntu.com/5887901/
15:32 <pleia2> so I *think* what he means is that we shouldn't have our own bug team, but instead maybe just convince more folks to look at joining bug squad?
15:33 <bluesabre> that's what I get from it as well
15:33 <lderan-work> indeed
15:33 <bluesabre> is the bug squad bug finders or bug fixers?
15:34 <bluesabre> (or bug makers)
15:34 <lderan-work> think they are bug fixers
15:35 <pleia2> triage and possibly
15:35 <lderan-work> triagers of the bugs?
15:35 <pleia2> I think mostly keeping an eye out on what's there, bringing things to our attention
15:35 <pleia2> lderan-work: yes
15:35 <bluesabre> ah
15:35 <slickymaster_> IMO, I think they have a wide scope, from bug finders to bug triagers and to bug fixers
15:36 <pleia2> I think the trouble is now we have a big list of bugs, and only our devs are looking at them (and they have precious, valuable time :))
15:36 <bluesabre> yeah
15:36 <bluesabre> lots of bugs, few devs with fewer resources
15:38 <bluesabre> anything else we want to add to this, or other new items?
15:38 <pleia2> I'm done
15:39 <bluesabre> #subtopic Schedule next meeting
15:39 <bluesabre> pleia2: I leave this to you :)
15:40 <pleia2> hah
15:40 <pleia2> we should hold off on this until more folks are around :)
15:40 <pleia2> and I'm not going to be here next week anyway
15:40 <bluesabre> we can be cruel and schedule this for a time convenient to us in the US
15:40 <pleia2> haha
15:40 <pleia2> knome never sleeps, it'll be fine
15:40 <bluesabre> lol
15:41 <bluesabre> #nick team
15:41 <bluesabre> #info team to schedule next meeting when more of the team is around
15:41 <bluesabre> #endmeeting
