17:07 * popey stats the meeting!
17:07 <ahayzen> \o/
17:07 <popey> i have a couple of things to bring up :)
17:07 <ahayzen> so looks like the autopilot fix landed :-)
17:07 <popey> yay
17:07 <popey> bzoltan will be happy
17:07 <ahayzen> i've been working upstream on a few things...
17:07 <popey> ooh?
17:08 <ahayzen> been working with Jim to make a the MediaPlayer automatically reload if the service (media-hub) dies
17:08 <ahayzen> got a prototype working for if media-hub dies once ... just twice it doesn't quite work for some reason, we're investigating
17:08 <ahayzen> but basically means that if media-hub dies, you won't need to restart the app to get audio working again
17:09 <popey> Oh that's nice
17:09 <ahayzen> and my small patch into Qt has been sent for review ... which helps us to getting load/save working on the queue/playlists so we can load/save to m3u/pls etc
17:09 <ahayzen> (instead of our super slow sqlite thingy)
17:10 <ahayzen> and OPUS support is in a silo, i've tested that and it appeared to be working :-)
17:10 <popey> Awesome.
17:10 <ahayzen> so the telegram guys are now looking to reenable that within their app i believe
17:10 <ahayzen> (for voice msgs)
17:11 <popey> oooh!
17:11 <popey> That will be nice!
17:11 <ahayzen> yah :-)
17:11 <popey> Didn't think anyone was touching telegram
17:11 <popey> Although I imagine this is a "one line fix"?
17:11 <ahayzen> and there is a performance related branch with florian has pushed but there were some issues i've commented back
17:11 <popey> (for them) 😃
17:11 <popey> ok, good stuff
17:11 <ahayzen> there is *someone* working ish on it i think
17:12 <ahayzen> popey, tracked here https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1460464
17:12 <ahayzen> there is an assignee for telegram :-)
17:12 <popey> ok
17:12 <popey> ah, jin, good
17:13 <ahayzen> i think that is all on my list at the moment...
17:13 <popey> i can imagine a bunch of channels "testing" opus out
17:13 <ahayzen> oh! and Jim has been working on getting media-hub to work on the desktop
17:13 <ahayzen> haha oh god
17:14 <ahayzen> (desktop aka unity8 desktop)
17:14 <popey> Oh, good, that leads to my next question
17:14 <popey> 16.10 will have unity8 in the image
17:14 <popey> and snap support
17:14 <popey> so.....
17:14 <ahayzen> ooo
17:14 <ahayzen> yup
17:14 <ahayzen> we need to wait for media-hub to work on the desktop, and for them to support snaps first
17:14 <popey> We need to re-visit a snap for music
17:14 <popey> yes
17:14 <ahayzen> i've been talking with jim about it
17:14 <popey> ok
17:14 <popey> good stuff
17:15 <ahayzen> i've managed to snap one of my Bacon2D games up though :-D
17:15 <ahayzen> just gotta figure out why LP isn't pushing it to the store :-/
17:16 <ahayzen> popey, but yeah, snapification (or whatever we are calling it) is on the list
17:16 <ahayzen> will we have UITK/ubuntu-sdk parts ?
17:16 <popey> uh
17:16 <popey> initially not yet
17:16 <ahayzen> or plugs and sockets
17:16 <ahayzen> would be nice if the base uitk was a template part that you could include
17:17 <popey> Okay, so good news.
17:17 <ahayzen> but i suppose it isn't that many packages to put int the stage ist
17:17 <ahayzen> *list
17:17 <popey> "Content snaps" have landed
17:17 <ahayzen> hehe
17:17 <popey> so we can make one snap kinda depend on another
17:17 <popey> so there could be a uitk content snap
17:17 <popey> shared to the music snap
17:17 <ahayzen> ok
17:17 <popey> bad news...
17:17 <ahayzen> from say ..ubuntu personal snap
17:17 <popey> not documented, and in the head of someone whose birthday it is today so he's afk :)
17:17 <popey> and is busy
17:17 <ahayzen> hehe :-)
17:17 <popey> but we're trying to prise the info out of him
17:18 <popey> and once we do, we (mhal119 and myself) will do demos to test it
17:18 <popey> and then document etc
17:19 <ahayzen> ok cool :-)
17:19 * ahayzen still wonders how granular the snapification will be
17:19 <popey> not that granular
17:19 <ahayzen> like are we expecting media-hub and mediascanner to be separate ones ...
17:20 <ahayzen> or are we expecting a ubuntu-touch snap...that has them all
17:20 * popey waves hands around
17:20 <ahayzen> and then just plugs and sockets
17:20 <popey> maybe :)
17:20 <ahayzen> :-D
17:20 <popey> unity8, mir, uitk, media-support.. maybe
17:20 <popey> guess that's a question for snappy and bill :)
17:20 <popey> he'll have to support some of this stuff
17:20 <ahayzen> yeah we'll find out in time i guess
17:21 <popey> but we need to keep pushing that
17:21 <ahayzen> yup over time i expect it'll become more granular
17:21 <popey> maybe
17:21 <popey> happy to tell you what I know
17:21 <ahayzen> coolio
17:21 <popey> got a postage stamp handy?
17:21 <ahayzen> :')
17:22 <popey> Ok, that was the only thing I had
17:22 <ahayzen> why not discuss over a beer ? :')
17:22 <ahayzen> lol
17:22 <popey> YES!
17:22 <ahayzen> popey, do we have timeframe for getting things ready for 16.10 ?
17:22 <ahayzen> or does it not matter as much... as we are snaps now \o/
17:22 <popey> well, we need a good story for launch day
17:23 <ahayzen> ok
17:23 <popey> given people will login to unity8 and go "ok, where's the apps?"
17:23 <ahayzen> yeah
17:23 <popey> also, i need to find out what the plan for a store is on unity8
17:23 <ahayzen> i'll have to go back to trying to use unity8 :-)
17:23 <popey> because currently the only gui is gnome-software
17:23 <popey> heh
17:23 <popey> "tying to"
17:23 <ahayzen> snappy store scope? :-)
17:23 <popey> needs one
17:23 <popey> dunno whats in the pipeline to be honest
17:23 <popey> good question
17:23 * ahayzen waits for network indicator to work and basic things like that
17:24 <popey> ah
17:24 <popey> but on 16.10 it's all newer, so must be better
17:24 <ahayzen> and i couldn't login to the ubuntu one account
17:24 <popey> ah
17:24 <ahayzen> yeah
17:24 <ahayzen> that's also the problem
17:24 <ahayzen> being on 16.04 it is 'fun' :-)
17:24 <popey> yeah
17:24 <ahayzen> and the LXC solution seems to not be so recommended now
17:24 <popey> at least being in the archive means you can stick 16.10 on a usb or dual boot or whatever
17:25 <popey> yeah, bin all that, use 16.10
17:25 <ahayzen> i've got the PPA solution at the moment
17:25 <ahayzen> with stable-phone-overlay thingy
17:25 <ahayzen> but my nexus 4 using slimport seems more usable than my laptop :-)
17:25 <popey> hah
17:26 <ahayzen> i saw there were fixes for the touchpad two finger scrolling as well..so maybe that'll help my other issues
17:26 <ahayzen> popey, but yeah, back on topic ... only other thing to discuss for music is the streaming designs
17:26 <popey> sweet
17:26 <popey> yes
17:26 <popey> I can catch up with james next week when he is back
17:26 <ahayzen> cool
17:26 <popey> you're away for how long?
17:27 <ahayzen> i put loads of comments in the doc IIRC
17:27 <ahayzen> i'm away until...7th Sept
17:27 <popey> awesome
17:27 <popey> ok
17:29 <ahayzen> popey, ok, shall we move onto weather?
17:29 <popey> ok
