11:33 <popey> Hows tricks?
11:33 <DanChapman> JMulholland, doing good thanks. Yourself?
11:33 <faenil> o/
11:33 <JMulholland> Can’t complain, suns out again :D
11:33 <DanChapman> hey faenil
11:33 <DanChapman> :-D
11:35 <faenil> yo chap
11:37 <popey> DanChapman: I recently received a pro 5 and wondered if there's anything you'd like me to specifically test on it
11:37 <popey> I can fire it up with a display adapter and keyboard/mouse in 'convergence' mode and test things there, for certain
11:40 <DanChapman> oh cool! is it nice? Dekko trunk still isn't quite at an usable state just yet and is a bit fiddly to get it all up and running. but it's not far off being back in full working order :-)
11:40 <popey> yeah, it's quite quick
11:41 <DanChapman> I've been working on the smtp story this week. the composer now saves a draft every 60 seconds and it immediately get's reloaded on opening Dekko after a crash so you shouldn't lose much now. which was a big issue before. Also sent messages now remain in the local "Outbox" until they are sent.
11:41 <popey> Nice!
11:42 <popey> recovering from crash states is important when you're never sure when you may get killed
11:42 <DanChapman> One question. Should "Outbox" messages be editable as they haven't been sent yet? As they are still basically a draft message until they are properly sent.
11:43 <DanChapman> My gut says they should be editable, but is it something people actually do
11:44 <popey> Tricky
11:44 <popey> I have edited stuff in outbox on various platforms before
11:44 <popey> and have found that a convenient feature. Especially when you fat-finger a send when you didn't mean to, and can catch it before it really goes
11:46 <DanChapman> Ok cool. It should be easy to add as i will treat any clicked on outbox messages as a draft and it will open the composer instead.
11:46 <popey> winner
11:46 <popey> do things disappear from outbox as soon as they're gone?
11:46 <popey> so I wont end up clicking something I -think- i can edit, but can't because it already left
11:46 <popey> so draft -> outbox -> sent, right?
11:47 <faenil> yeah, it depends on whether outbox can disappear under your finger I guess
11:48 <popey> yeah
11:48 <DanChapman> Yep draft->outbox->sent. Ah yeah I should probably hold a lock on an outbox message being sent if it's open for edit.
11:48 <faenil> maybe if the user opens an email which was in outbox we could ask him if he wants to move it back to inbox?
11:48 <faenil> yeah
11:49 <popey> DanChapman: http://imgur.com/a/H8evn - some images of what it looks like on the pro 5, when attached and detached from a wireless display
11:50 <popey> if you open an outbox message it should move to drafts, no?
11:50 <JMulholland> popey, looks pretty good on the pro 5 :D
11:51 <JMulholland> And I agree on the moving to drafts point...
11:51 <popey> see the buttons in the top left of the screenshot?
11:51 <popey> "Burger | Inbox (3 + magnifying glass"
11:52 <popey> that (3 is actually ~3687)
11:52 <JMulholland> Ah, yes, the layouts gotten a little squiffy...
11:52 <popey> burger and inbox should be hard left, buttons hard right IMO?
11:52 <JMulholland> that’s the pattern we use, yea
11:52 <popey> probably already fixed knowing DanChapman :)
11:52 <DanChapman> ahh true. So just move it straight back to drafts, sounds the right thing to do.
11:53 <DanChapman> YEah that's fixed. I spotted that playing with it on mako
11:53 <popey> \o/
11:53 <popey> Knew you would ㋛
11:53 <DanChapman> :-D will look much better with the new UI in windowed mode will look much better with the new UI http://imgur.com/2AFKIdO
11:53 <popey> oh man
11:53 <DanChapman> excuse my dev panel on the bottom :-)
11:53 <popey> look at that
11:54 <JMulholland> :D
11:54 <popey> seriously... amazing
11:54 <JMulholland> absolutely!
11:54 <DanChapman> Yeah it's coming along nicely so far.
11:55 <faenil> nice, niec :)
11:55 <popey> So when are we going to freeze?
11:55 <popey> :)
11:55 <popey> Screenshots are nice n'all but you know.. :)
11:55 <faenil> hahaah
11:59 <DanChapman> hah! it will be a couple of weeks at least. Still need to finish off the composer, add contact stuff, and finish off the new setup wizard. ( which faenil brought another issue to my attention today for gmail accounts ) but at least it's no longer an endless list :-D
11:59 <popey> Great.
12:00 <DanChapman> as soon as the setup wizard is working i'll be getting you to test it so your wait is less :-)
12:00 <popey> I think we need to draw a line at some point and submit to QA
12:00 <popey> heh, super
12:00 <popey> Also need to test on the M10
12:01 <popey> Want to go for a week of only using the M10 and pro 5, and once this lands would be a great way to start, having a decent email client on a desktop UI on the phone and tablet
12:02 <DanChapman> I agree and as soon as all the basics are there i will prepare it for QA.
12:02 <DanChapman> heh i'd be interested to hear how you get on with it for a week :-) sounds fun!
12:02 <faenil> time's up for me :) cya next time people. DanChapman, always available for you ;)
12:02 <faenil> o/
12:03 <popey> thanks faenil
12:03 <DanChapman> sure thing, thanks faenil!
12:03 <popey> Ok, anything else to discuss?
12:03 <DanChapman> Nothing my end atm
12:03 <JMulholland> NOthing else here
12:05 <popey> \o/
