Off somewhere hot? 12:14 :) 12:14 * faenil is in Italy atm...sooooo hot! 12:14 maybe :) 12:15 So, do we have any topics for this week? 12:15 Your video seemed popular :) 12:15 I think there may be an Ubuntu Personal Desktop build based on snappy around the corner 12:16 which means we should look at getting dekko on that for testing 12:16 It would appear so. My questions are mainly about designs we havn;t got yet like converged settings, contacts and setup wizard. 12:16 aha, JMulholland you here? 12:16 I am! 12:17 \o/ snappy desktop. So will much be different to package for that compared to click? 12:17 * DanChapman needs to read up a bit more on snappy 12:17 I’ll follow up on the converged settings (a couple of designer have been working on this in a broader sense for convergence, so we want to be aligned) 12:17 Not sure, I think we may need to enlist some help from snappy people to do that initially 12:18 but I'd wait for the desktop build to be made first 12:18 so not a high priority right now 12:18 ok cool 12:21 As we are getting more users were getting quite a few reports of not being able to setup accounts. So that needs addressing asap. I also think the current setup steps are little unclear when we are unable to figure the settings out for them 12:22 JMulholland: I have some ideas of how the setup could work better. Would you mind if I mockup some wireframes and send them you way for thoughts/improvement? 12:23 absolutely wouldn’t mind DanChapman, your thoughts would be most welcome as ever 12:23 great :-) 12:25 JMulholland: on the small form factor message view are we going to stick with the radial menu? 12:26 It seems a bit odd to have it on small FF but medium/large it changes to a panel 12:26 I believe so, the only feedback I had from my reviewers on the design team where that the black behind the radial felt a little ‘heavy’ over the new visual style 12:26 so in the short term we could probably reduce use a white overlay (instead of black) at 50% opacity 12:27 long term we might look to get some icons which stand out more without the need for a mask behind them 12:28 sorry = *so in the short term we could probably use a white overlay (instead of black) and reduce to 50% opacity 12:29 ok then, so that would also require the menu item's background color to change from white. Otherwise that will be white-on-white. 12:30 hmm, good point. Probably safer to stick with the black for now, but make it ‘less heavy’ (i.e. reduce opacity to 30-50%)? 12:31 I’ll get some visual design eyes on it as soon as I can for their expert opinion ;) 12:31 ok then, i'll give that a try. 12:31 that would be great thanks. 12:33 For importing contacts from address-book, at the moment if a imported contacts name matches an internal one it just overwrites it. Which seems wrong to me. How should we handle matching of contacts? I presume a prompt of some kind? 12:34 would combining them be possible? 12:34 if the address differs by name doesnt, that is 12:35 in cases where they both match, just disregard? 12:35 *if the name differs but name doesnt, that is 12:35 : in cases where they both match, just disregard? 12:35 ugh, sorry. I have a stinking head cold right now so loads of typos 12:36 I’ll try one last time 12:36 if the name differs but adress doesnt, ideally we’d merge them into a single contact 12:36 if the name and address both match, we could just disregard? 12:36 Yes we could just combine it. Ahh then there's the case if "Bob Smith" i imported is a different person to a "Bob Smith" I already have locally 12:37 well, they would presumably have different email addresses in that case right? 12:37 i.e. the name AND address are equally important when doing an import check 12:37 that's true :-) 12:37 * DanChapman overthinking it 12:38 we might still want to consider some sort of prompt in cases where names match exactly, there’s still the possibility of knowing more than one bob smith and not wanting them to be merged to a single contact... 12:39 slightly edge-casey, but youre right in that it still bears consideration 12:39 before we wrap up, theres something coming out of the converged SDK work that might affect us regarding the bottom edge 12:40 it’s possible the guidance might change to placing bottom edge functionality on an icon in the header area (and hidding/suppressing the bottom edge hint) 12:40 I’ll let you know and update the spec as soon as I get confirmation 12:40 Yeah it is a bit of edge case, i'll save that for another day. so intially combine rather than overwrite 12:41 So no longer swipe from the bottom? (possibly) 12:43 its a possibility, I’ll keep you posted 12:44 ok then, i'll hold off on starting the bottom edge changes until then :-) 12:47 oh boren's here. hey o/ have you got any questions? 12:47 DanChapman: No, I am looking for things to work on. 12:51 boren getting the messageview to work with the latest 15.04 html5 sdk would be uper helpful. If you have the time? It was proper broken when i tried it last week 12:51 I am more interested in how do we add and remove recipients to contacts in the message view? 12:51 DanChapman: OK, briefly what is broken, so I can have a clue. 12:53 I think the UbuntuUI class is basically broken, and no style gett applied. It looks like its changed with how all that works. 12:53 *no styles getting applied 12:54 DanChapman: All right them, I will look into that. 12:54 boren, could you add a question to https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aw94i12b7Gc-xwUU2V73uz4H5jknMz8xHoa6mAW6mJc/edit?usp=sharing about adding/removing contacts 12:55 wow the time. Shall we wrap up? sorry again for arriving late 12:55 :) 12:55 :) 12:56 No worries, looks productive! 12:56 Thanks chaps. 12:56 #endmeeting
