I've been protoyping how dekko will work with convergence https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwhxYaiA7z1qSFVqODdCaVdTdDg/view?usp=sharing (video quality is poor) 12:05 boren do you have access to james's UX doc? did you get an invite? 12:05 DanChapman: No, I guess 12:06 I am working with the app spec now. 12:06 popey: can only james invite or can any canonical employee share it? 12:07 let me seee 12:08 DanChapman: cool stuff 12:09 DanChapman: just fyi, the sdk guys are working on a component which will be used for that purpose (multi columns) 12:09 is it https://docs.google.com/document/d/1aw94i12b7Gc-xwUU2V73uz4H5jknMz8xHoa6mAW6mJc/edit ? 12:09 ah yes 12:10 no, i cant, sorry. 12:10 I have requested that boren get access, but james will have to do that 12:10 In the meantime, feel free to print as pdf and share with boren 12:10 faenil: when is that expected to land. The recent blog post suggests these components won't come until 1.4 and after 15.09 12:11 I wonder if I can copy it. ill look into after the meeting 12:11 DanChapman: it will land in 1.3 12:11 MultiColumnView 12:12 ahh ok cool thanks 12:13 it has funcs to add pages to current and next columns, and the view will arrange the pages depending on where you add the pages 12:14 excellent 12:14 DanChapman: ETA latest end of July 12:15 * DanChapman makes note 12:15 and the header will resize to have the same height on all the pages 12:16 headers* 12:16 nice! :) 12:19 :) 12:19 Ok. 12:19 Look forward to that. 12:20 DanChapman: I've had no feedback about notifications, will chase up. 12:20 That protoype is all I really have for an update this week. I just a have a bucket load of questions to bombard james with when he get's back. 12:20 heh :) 12:21 Did you manage to get a fat package built? 12:21 Or did I miss a link? 12:21 yeah i sent you a link, let me find it. 12:22 https://goo.gl/1MSHgN 12:22 it has not translations though 12:22 ok 12:23 * popey downloads 12:23 thanks DanChapman 12:23 I have a question for you.. 12:23 Are there any specific areas you need help with? 12:23 Not necessarily from Canonical, but perhaps community developers? 12:24 Everywhere :-D 12:24 heh 12:24 Hm, okay :) 12:24 Let me rephrase. 12:25 Do you have any bitesize pieces of work which could perhaps be taken on? 12:27 Yes, so there are lots of little qml bugs that need fixing. Also I really need some help with the message view template, i'm not that great with html/css which for someone who knows it, it's not a big task 12:27 Okay. 12:27 * popey makes notes 12:28 Anything else we need to discuss? 12:29 not atm 12:29 What recent contact do we need to collect? 12:29 It says "most recent senders & recipients" in the doc 12:29 i'll get a more complete list of bitesize stuff that we need help with and send you a link. 12:30 ok, thanks DanChapman 12:30 Is that from all contacts recorded or from all emails we send and recieve? 12:30 boren: I would just store the recent recipients we send to who are not in the address book. 12:31 DanChapman: alright then 12:31 DanChapman: maybe also include ones that is in the address book> 12:32 why mix them? 12:33 alright, I'm off to lunch then guys :) 12:33 o/ faenil 12:33 o/ 12:33 I think the idea is to show in the composer auto completion a list of both save contacts and "recent other" 12:33 popey: calendar in 30? 12:34 o/ faenil 12:34 faenil: 25 :) 12:34 DanChapman: "recent" sound like it can include recent recipients whether they are included in address book or not 12:34 :) 12:35 DanChapman: I mean for the recent tab on the address book page 12:35 boren: ohhhh now I get you 12:37 I still think recent contacts shouldn't contain address book contacts. What about adding a last contacted date field to the addressbook and filter them into the recents list? 12:38 so we would have to update the addressbook on submission but that's not really an issue 12:39 On other platforms the most recent is bubbled to the top, for easy picking with just a thin line between recent and everyone else. Is that what you're thinking? 12:40 https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1UGddusaEb9JRox8Lv-qa5baqs13zEq1l3g4m5qblk1M/edit#slide=id.gae74895aa_5_0 12:41 DanChapman: by updating the addressbook, do we still need to record contacts that is not recorded? 12:42 popey: from what I understood from talking with gventuri was we would have a seperate recents list to the address book. Same as how thunderbird does it. So you don't have to commit to a one recipient being stored in you address-book but it is quickly available from the recent's list should you need it again 12:43 *one time recipient 12:43 right 12:43 makes sense 12:44 boren: yes if a recipient is not in the address-book then store it in a recent list. It would probably make sense to trim the recipient list after X days to only keep the most recent to hand. 12:44 *recent list 12:45 So the recent tab should display contacts that are recipients lately regardless of whether that email is recorded in the address book? 12:45 yes 12:45 IMO 12:46 +1 12:46 DanChapman: Great, I know how it behaves now. 12:46 awesome 12:46 thanks boren 12:47 Right better let popey go grab a coffee before his next meeting 12:47 :D 12:47 :-D 12:47 Thanks guys. 12:47 thanks! 12:47 #endmeeting
