12:01 <popey> Hows it going chaps?
12:01 <DanChapman> Going good thanks, yourself?
12:01 <popey> ( JMulholland I am in the london office but couldn't find you, and now I'm on wired ethernet, can't move) :D
12:01 <popey> tickety boo
12:01 <JMulholland> :)
12:02 <JMulholland> Was just out inhaling a sandwhich for lunch before the meetings got started ;)
12:02 <popey> hah
12:02 <DanChapman> haha
12:02 <popey> aaaaanyway :)
12:02 <popey> I haven't found someone who can help with background notifications, but I have people I can ask in the office, which i will do this afternoon DanChapman
12:03 <JMulholland> DanChapman what’s your email address Dan?
12:03 <faenil> o/
12:04 <JMulholland> hi faenil
12:04 <DanChapman> yay! well the service I'm writing at the moment to use unsespended will be able to be called as a hook for polld or whatever service does it. (that's if it is even done like that in the end)
12:04 <faenil> just out of another meeting :D
12:04 <DanChapman> JMulholland: dpniel@ubuntu.com
12:04 <DanChapman> hey faenil
12:06 <JMulholland> cool, sharing some first-draft sketches I’ve been working on for convergent Dekko with you, popey & DanChapman :)
12:06 <JMulholland> check your inboxes!
12:06 * DanChapman just refreshes his brain of revent bugs
12:06 <DanChapman> ooooh!
12:06 <popey> ooh
12:06 * DanChapman looks at that first
12:09 <faenil> hey where are my sketches? :D
12:10 <JMulholland> Just the first few sketches that conver the ‘heart’ of the experience (+ a ‘reply inline’ feature I was asked to consider by design management here)
12:10 <JMulholland> sorry faenil ! whats your email address?
12:10 <faenil> andrea.bernabei@canonical.com
12:10 <faenil> I shouldn't have done that
12:10 <faenil> f***...
12:10 <faenil> well, too late
12:10 <faenil> spammers, I don't fear you
12:11 <JMulholland> haha
12:11 * popey signs faenil up for special deals
12:11 <faenil> :D
12:11 <faenil> I am already receiving a lot of surprisingly targeted UK-related spam on gmail since I moved to London..
12:12 <faenil> which is quite worrying in the first place...but anyway...
12:12 <DanChapman> There's quite alot here, so the reply inline might be the tricky one. AS we currently use a fullscreen webview for that.
12:12 <popey> brb
12:13 <JMulholland> fair enough DanChapman, I thought it was likely to be one of the ‘bigger asks’ coming out f this design work
12:13 <JMulholland> which is why I started there, so we could talk about it ;)
12:15 <popey> ..back.
12:17 <DanChapman> Sure, so the reason we have to go the with a full screen webview at the moment is not being able to resize a webview to the size of the message. Oxide to dies, so we can't place anything below it at the moment
12:17 <popey> oxide dies?
12:18 <JMulholland> ah
12:18 <DanChapman> popey: yeah I previously spoke to osomon about it and he said we are trying to use oxide in a way it wasn't designed to.
12:19 <popey> ugh
12:19 <DanChapman> webkit could handle it semi ok but it was still hacky working around the double flickable
12:23 <DanChapman> I wonder if we could do it with a custom c++ component. I'll have a think about it
12:23 <popey> Might be better than trying to twist oxide or webkit to the needs..
12:25 <DanChapman> JMulholland: regards to moving the settings will that be in the header of all views or just specific ones?
12:25 <JMulholland> My intention was to have it available in the inbox (for phones)
12:26 <JMulholland> with the convergent combination view, it would be there whenever the inbox list is visible too
12:28 <DanChapman> ok cool
12:29 <DanChapman> are we losing the blue header aswell? personally i like both so i'm not fussed which it is
12:29 <JMulholland> Yea, that reflects the current direction the visual designers are header with the style
12:30 <JMulholland> so we’ll end up with Dekko looking like part of the ‘ubuntu app’ family if we go this way :)
12:30 <DanChapman> Excellent!
12:31 <popey> "current direction" :)
12:31 <popey> So we can consider dekko & music as the leaders here.
12:31 <DanChapman> oh one more thing, how will settings be displayed on the wider views? We have quite alot of settings already and alot more coming
12:31 <popey> And other apps can pick up on cues from those.
12:33 <JMulholland> Still working through that DanChapman (as it will effect all of our convergent apps with settings view)
12:33 <JMulholland> Im considering constraining a ‘settings’ view to the left column/inbox list area. but need to sketch that out to see how it looks/ whether it feels weird
12:33 <DanChapman> JMulholland: ok great :) is there anywhere you would like me to leave comments/questions as I think of them?
12:34 <JMulholland> Just a sneak peek, I’ll be putting these into a delta/convergence dekko UX Spec, which I’ll be reviewing with design management next wekk
12:34 <JMulholland> *week
12:34 <JMulholland> Will be a doc, so I’ll be sure to share it with you and would welcome your input and comments!
12:35 <DanChapman> awesome, thanks for you work on this so far :-)
12:35 <popey> Yeah, great to see this moving forward!
12:35 <popey> Ok, anything else to discuss?
12:36 <DanChapman> not at the moment
12:36 <DanChapman> faenil: btw thanks for digging into that bottom edge issue, I can easily reproduce it now.
12:37 <faenil> no problem :)
12:37 <faenil> I was working on bottom-edge-related stuff, so I couldn't just close my eyes and ignore it :)
12:37 <popey> right, thanks then everyone.
12:38 <JMulholland> cheers all!
