13:05 <popey> Monday fail.
13:05 <popey> How are you?
13:05 <ahayzen> good thanks you?
13:05 <popey> Great!
13:05 <popey> So, three topics...
13:06 <popey> 1) Thumbnail loading issue... (currently blocking upload to the store)
13:06 <popey> 2) other issues raised by JoeO
13:06 <popey> 3) UOS session.
13:06 <ahayzen> lets start with topic 1) :)
13:06 <ahayzen> so i've been working on rewriting the cardview over the weekend and it is probably ~90% there now
13:07 <ahayzen> i hope to propose something for review later today (i had victor have a look at a preview yesterday)
13:08 <popey> Excellent news!
13:08 <popey> I look forward to testing it!
13:08 <ahayzen> basically now only the cards that are one screen + a buffer are loaded, therefore causing the thumbnailer to be a bit faster - it is still slow though lol but we're doing things our end correctly now
13:08 <popey> ok.
13:08 <ahayzen> *on screen
13:08 <popey> If you flick, they then load on demand / ahead of time?
13:09 <ahayzen> popey, slightly ahead it loads everything on screen + 20GU after and 40GU before
13:09 <popey> super super.
13:09 <ahayzen> popey, but when it reloads the same card the thumbnailer still has to reload it :/ seems like the thumbnailer should have some internal cache itself or something idk
13:10 <popey> yeah, i think we should do the Right Think ™ and then lobby the thumbnailer guys to fix their shizzle.
13:10 <ahayzen> yeah exactly as it is bad in the scopes as well
13:11 <ahayzen> well that is basically all i have for 1) ....
13:11 <popey> Ok, that's great!
13:11 <ahayzen> 2) Victor has been working on the minor fixes and some of them have landed/ready for review
13:12 <popey> \o/
13:12 <ahayzen> so other than the points that need UX or a quite complex they are either done or WIP
13:12 <ahayzen> *are quite
13:12 * ahayzen just woke up...
13:12 <popey> Ok.
13:12 <popey> Heh!
13:12 <popey> Endless weekend huh.
13:12 <ahayzen> yeah pesky cardview
13:12 <popey>13:13 <popey> yeah, I'll not be too scathing about your waking hours given what you choose to do with them ☻
13:13 <ahayzen> hehe
13:13 <popey> So we should be able to crank out a click before UOS?
13:13 <popey> Assuming 1) is fixed today/tomorrow?
13:13 <ahayzen> hopefully yes :)...thats the plan lol
13:13 <popey> sweet!
13:14 <ahayzen> the only big issues with the cardview atm are...
13:14 <ahayzen> * resizing the window refreshes the whole view
13:14 <ahayzen> * you can 'overscroll' by flicking causing everything to disappear
13:14 <popey> erk.
13:14 <popey> i have seen that in other apps.
13:14 <ahayzen> ...both of which are only on/i've only seen on desktop
13:14 <popey> I've seen it with mouse wheel scrolling on desktop, yes
13:15 <ahayzen> yeah you seem to get a massive velocity causing the flickable to go really far....then all the cards get deleted as they are offscreen ...and it doesn't then know how to rebuild things lol
13:16 <ahayzen> but on device it is shaping up pretty well
13:16 <popey> sounds like a toolkit issue?
13:16 <popey> shouldn't let you whizz past the end of the world
13:16 <ahayzen> ideally you should not notice any difference other than the thumbnails loading a bit quicker
13:16 <popey> ok.
13:16 <ahayzen> yeah i'll check with the SDK folks before digging too far
13:16 <popey> phone usability > desktop usability for now.
13:17 <popey> kk
13:17 <ahayzen> exactly so the resizing issue is probably low priority as well
13:17 <ahayzen> basically my plan was to spend today trying to figure them out...then if i couldn't propose it anyway and just create a bug for the known issues on desktop
13:18 <popey> Right, good play.
13:18 <popey> *plan
13:19 <ahayzen> popey, so point 3) ... IIRC victor said he was going to start making an agenda but i don't know if/how far he got
13:19 <popey> nothing at http://pad.ubuntu.com/uos-1411-music-planning yet, but he may have done that locally.
13:20 <ahayzen> yeah or i may have been dreaming
13:20 <popey> heh
13:21 <popey> Ok. Anything else to discuss?
13:21 <ahayzen> erm don't think so, hopefully we'll have a new click soon :)
13:22 <popey> Excellent, look forward to it!
13:22 <popey> loving the new app
13:22 <popey> I use it way more now.
13:22 <ahayzen> hopefully it'll be worth the wait
13:22 <popey>13:22 <ahayzen> +1 of the new app :)
13:23 <popey> Ok, lets wrap then, let me know if you need anything. Enjoy breakfast! ☻
13:23 <ahayzen> 'breakfast' thanks :)
