11:08 <popey> How are you?
11:09 <m-b-o> fine! and yourself?
11:09 <popey> Good good.
11:10 <popey> So, next week we're off to Malta for a sprint.
11:10 <popey> We will be reviewing all of the core apps through the week
11:10 <popey> Weather included of course.
11:11 <m-b-o> okay
11:11 <popey> I expect there will be some feedback in terms of bugs and perhaps user interface changes
11:11 <popey> but I don't know the scope right now
11:12 <m-b-o> yes, feedback is always good. there are some corners and rough edges left
11:12 <popey> There's of course the question of what we do with the bottom edge.
11:13 <m-b-o> yes, thought about that too....
11:13 <popey> With the toolbar moving to the top and the bottom edge handed over to app, there's some options.
11:13 <popey> Both for the "quick flick" from the bottom, and the slower graded drag
11:13 <m-b-o> tab switching or more details about the location or day
11:13 <m-b-o> perhaps
11:14 <m-b-o> or switching the days over the bottom edge
11:15 <m-b-o> have you had the opportunity to try out the new bottome edge for yourself?
11:15 <popey> Yeah, I suspect the most common use case for weather is "now" and "next" where "next" means "tomorrow" "this weekend" or "next week" depending on who you ask.
11:15 <popey> no.
11:16 <popey> I can imagine a graded "zoom" where as you pull up you see more detail, increasing in "time from now" as you pull up
11:17 <m-b-o> yes.... starting from a relatively near "next" to a farther point in future
11:17 <popey> so you see "now" by default, pull up one third and you see "later today", pull up two thirds and you see "tomorrow", pull all the way up and you see the next 5 days
11:18 <popey> with a smooth transition between them
11:18 <m-b-o> yes, that sounds good. the next days with a small teaser and then getting "full-tab" when choosen
11:19 <m-b-o> I will keep it in mind. Ideas will follow :)
11:19 <popey> yes, if you let go at one third it shows more details about today, let go at two thirds and you see more detail about tomorrow etc
11:19 <popey> excellent
11:20 <m-b-o> yeah, sounds fluid
11:21 <m-b-o> I'll have to refactor some parts of the autopilot tests together with balloons next up and will then change to the new header after that
11:21 <popey> yes, i think this will have to be a separate branch
11:22 <m-b-o> when will this new bottom edge land in the sdk?
11:22 <popey> ask t1mp ☻
11:25 <popey> If we get a good time slot next week, perhaps we could have a hangout? Are you around much next week?
11:25 <m-b-o> would thursday be too late?
11:26 <popey> not sure, probably not
11:29 <m-b-o> I think, I can tell at monday
11:29 <popey> ok, just drop me a mail with your availability
11:29 <popey> we can work around you
11:29 <m-b-o> alright, I will
11:29 <popey> thanks
11:30 <m-b-o> do you think, you can review https://code.launchpad.net/~martin-borho/ubuntu-weather-app/fix-1318676-flaky-tests/+merge/219329
11:30 <m-b-o> ?
11:30 * popey looks
11:30 <popey> looks like one for balloons ☻
11:31 <popey> i can certainly test it on device
11:31 <popey> I'll do that now.
11:31 <m-b-o> would be cool
11:32 <popey> testing...
11:33 <popey> anything else I can help with?
11:34 <m-b-o> I guess not :) I'm a little bit in a hurry at the moment. I'll try to get some things done till next week
11:34 <popey> ok. I'll leave a comment on that merge when this finishes.
11:35 <popey> dammit, key
11:37 * popey runs tests again.
11:37 <popey> lets move to #ubuntu-app-devel
11:37 <popey> thanks again
