20:02 <popey> Hows it going?
20:02 <CarlosMazieri> Hi
20:03 <ajalkane> howdy
20:03 <popey> ajalkane: thanks for reviewing CarlosMazieri's merges
20:03 <popey> Its good to see those landing!
20:04 <ajalkane> No probs... big thanks to carlos for splitting them up. I couldn't have done it otherwise
20:04 <ajalkane> first up: are these meetings logged somewhere? I tried searching for the irc logs but there was nothing I could find
20:04 <CarlosMazieri> Thanks i havê more code to propose
20:05 <popey> yes
20:05 <popey> the meeting logs are always on http://ubottu.com/meetingology/logs/ubuntu-touch-meeting/2014
20:05 <ajalkane> I can try and review it if it's as nicely splitted up as the recent ones :)
20:06 <CarlosMazieri> I will do
20:06 <popey> CarlosMazieri: what can we expect from you next?
20:06 <ajalkane> popey: btw. any reason why these are not in the common ubuntu irclogs server?
20:06 <CarlosMazieri> Networking or multhRead
20:07 <ajalkane> on other news I managed to push the preliminary ContentHub support branch for review. I put kenvandine as reviewer
20:07 <popey> Awesome!
20:07 <popey> kenvandine: ^ ☻
20:07 <kenvandine> woot
20:07 <ajalkane> There's still many things in the UI to work, but considering I've been banging my head against getting it working for few months I felt at least something must get landed
20:09 <popey> ajalkane: have you seen the recent post about the x86 emulator?
20:09 <popey> https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg08059.html
20:09 <popey> it's _way_ faster than the armhf one
20:10 <ajalkane> I've seen it, but considering the amount of problems I had with an emulator of any kind I'm just going to steer WAY clear of it unless I really need it
20:10 <ajalkane> My problems were not really the slowness as such, but not working kind of
20:10 <popey> ah, okay.
20:11 <popey> CarlosMazieri: when you say "networking" are we talking mounting network (smb/nfs?) drives or something else?
20:11 <ajalkane> kenvandine: while I tested Content-Hub, choosing from importer a source, then just closing the exporter without selecting anything, the importer just hangs. Should I file a bug?
20:12 <kenvandine> ajalkane, nah... that behavior will go away when we have trusted sessions
20:13 <popey> kenvandine: do you know the ETA for that?
20:13 <ajalkane> Talking about carlos' changes. He's done lots of great work. But I think the UI part has been lagging behind. There's many improvements Carlos has made but we haven't had time to look into bringing the UI up-to-date
20:14 <popey> ajalkane: do you have specifics?
20:14 <CarlosMazieri> Samba vifs
20:14 <kenvandine> no... i had hoped it would have been ready already
20:14 <ajalkane> CarlosMazieri: can you give a short summary of what the QML part does not handle of your improvements?
20:15 <popey> CarlosMazieri: so, on the phone we don't ship samba support, and expect we won't out of the box, so do you think we can implement that with a library bundled with the app?
20:15 <ajalkane> I know there's stuff like multi-select etc... but I don't remember the specifics
20:16 <CarlosMazieri> I meant cifs
20:16 <CarlosMazieri> Yes, will do.
20:16 <CarlosMazieri> Im on a car Hart to type
20:16 <CarlosMazieri> Will send
20:17 <popey> CarlosMazieri: heh, okay. Yes, could you summarise the design requirements in an email to us and I'll put the call out.
20:17 <CarlosMazieri> Ok
20:17 <popey> thanks
20:18 <popey> ajalkane: sorry, missed your question about logs, yes, meeting channels tend to just use the meeting bot, happy to pull all the right log files and mail you.
20:19 <ajalkane> popey: the link you gave is plenty enough, I've written it down for further reference
20:20 <popey> ok.
20:21 <popey> so will you have time to review the rest of Carlo's MRs this week?
20:21 <ajalkane> popey: I think so. I just did the 4th, and I think only one is left
20:21 <popey> oh, awesome, thank you!
20:22 <popey> part of my motivation is of course to get this new stuff landed, but part is to keep the filemanager merges from going into the red zone! people.canonical.com/~dpm/core-apps-sponsoring/
20:22 <popey>20:22 <popey> So I really appreciate the work you're doing helping to get Carlo's work landed!
20:23 <ajalkane> yeah we don't want that :)
20:23 <popey>20:23 <ajalkane> Carlos has really done a lot of work there
20:23 <popey> Yeah, it's impressive.
20:24 <ajalkane> But hey...
20:24 <ajalkane> I'm still going to be a bugger and wonder what use is FileManager as hub-exporter if it can only export pictures?
20:25 <popey> Well, it would be ideal if it can export other data.
20:25 <popey> e.g. ebooks to the ebook reader
20:25 <popey> or other media types
20:25 <ajalkane> yeah... so is that support coming in SDK and any ETA?
20:26 <ajalkane> Last I spoke with people about this I got the impression it wasn't a use case that was understood
20:27 <popey> Good question. It's one I want to bring up next week during out sprint.
20:27 <popey> kenvandine: you going to be in Malta?
20:27 <popey> so I can pounce on you
20:27 <kenvandine> yup
20:27 <ajalkane> Ok, good. So good or bad news next week about that :)
20:28 <ajalkane> Because frankly, unless such support will come, it'll be downright silly to include content-hub support in FileManager
20:30 <popey> yes, I agree
20:31 <popey> Ok. Any other blockers or issues ajalkane ?
20:32 <ajalkane> nope, all good. I'll be reviewing Carlos' changes. Perhaps do some polishing on content hub support UI
20:32 <popey> Brilliant. Thanks for doing that.
20:33 <ajalkane> Cya next week
