19:01 <popey> hows you?
19:02 <mrqtros> I am ok, and you? :)
19:02 <popey> great!

19:04 <popey> So, where are we?
19:04 <mrqtros> I was out of business this week (working on my app for Ubuntu App Showdown)
19:05 <mrqtros> Currently in trunk we have unfinished beta :/
19:05 <mrqtros> Still need to fix few things
19:05 <popey> had a play with shorts today. it's looking great so far
19:05 <mrqtros> Main issue now - you can't switch to "list view" from all tabs
19:06 <mrqtros> only from "shorts"
19:06 * balloons has stuff to say
19:06 <mrqtros> Because Joey must unify the way of creating tabs, I already asked him today :)
19:06 <popey> hmm
19:06 <popey> i just tried getting to the list view from "engaget" and it didn't, then switched to shorts, and tried, then engadget list view appeared
19:07 <mrqtros> I hope he will perform his work as fast as possible :)
19:08 <mrqtros> popey, believe me, I know how it works :D We still need some little change )
19:08 <popey> heh
19:08 <popey> i trust you ☻
19:09 <mrqtros> And another thing which we shall add to get beta - dialogs with errors/prompts
19:10 <popey> on that subject.. we're at the end of month-4 milestone now
19:10 <popey> month-5 ends in mid-september
19:11 <popey> so the items in the blueprint which are month-4 need updating and/or bumping to month-5
19:12 <popey> also, another bit of good news, qtlocation should get hooked up to the gps in tomorows build or perhaps next week
19:12 <popey> that means we can pottentially look for "local" news feeds based on location
19:12 <mrqtros> Currently we don't use this feature :)
19:13 <popey> indeed
19:13 <popey> but now we have gps... it's an option
19:13 <mrqtros> In our app search is performed via Google Feed API
19:13 <popey> but that's not an urgent requirement
19:14 <mrqtros> Don't know how to add location feature to it :)
19:14 <mrqtros> Yep!
19:16 * popey wonders if balloons has anything to say ☻
19:16 <balloons> popey, see above.. lol
19:16 <balloons> yes, I wanted to talk testing :-)
19:17 <mrqtros> I've missed a lot of commits to tests :)
19:17 <balloons> So, recently we were able to do a couple things on the testing front. Carla updated the test to add a feed again, and I converted everything to the new emulator and landed the changes. We seem to suffer from regressions in the codebase where things break. I'd like to try and fix that
19:18 <balloons> the goal is to use gated commits to not let code in that will break things.. this should help everyone on the development efforts, and make sure we don't slide backwards and regress
19:19 <balloons> up until now we've not had any tests to really gate anything, so it wasn' t possible.
19:19 <balloons> If you were not aware, the QA team has done some work to test the rss reader and other core apps everyday. You can see the results here: http://reports.qa.ubuntu.com/smokeng/saucy/
19:20 <balloons> For instance, here's the run from today for the nexus 4: http://reports.qa.ubuntu.com/smokeng/saucy/image/3536/ubuntu-rssreader-app-autopilot/
19:21 <balloons> as you can see the test failed in the lab.. Check out this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-rssreader-app/+bug/1210571. Apparently the application behavoir needs to change in dealing with the OSK
19:21 * balloons lets everyone digest :-)
19:22 <balloons> and yes sorry for all the commits.. I've been trying to get the test to pass :-)
19:23 <mrqtros> balloons are you nskaggs? :)
19:23 <balloons> indeed :-)
19:23 <mrqtros> A lot of information I am missed :)
19:24 <mrqtros> I have missed*
19:24 <balloons> mrqtros, feel free to ask questions.. I want to sync up everyone on the same page.
19:25 <mrqtros> I can't work with OSK because I have not device :(
19:26 <mrqtros> balloons, we will have another big change in our app structure this days, later tests will become really actual)
19:26 <balloons> mrqtros, the goal is now that we've landed the test, we don't want to break it with any commits
19:27 <balloons> so if we change how a feed gets added, we update the test
19:27 <balloons> and carla and myself are happy to help do that
19:27 <balloons> what that does is makes sure the app keeps working and we don't accidently break something
19:30 <mrqtros> Sure, we again met problem in app structure :) That's why no one from my team don't want to look forward
19:30 <mrqtros> Again I found that my list mode was ignored :(
19:31 <mrqtros> And as result now some fundamental thing must be changed :)
19:34 <mrqtros> But I will fix it soon :)
19:34 <mrqtros> Maybe tests will be untouched :)
19:36 <popey> balloons: all done?
19:36 <balloons> popey, one sec
19:42 <popey> I'll take that as a yes ☻
19:42 <popey> mrqtros: thanks for your time and hard work on this!
19:42 <popey> mrqtros: if there's anything we can do to help, let us know
19:42 <mrqtros> popey thanks too :)
19:42 <mrqtros> of course :)
