19:13 <mhall119> so how is the progress going on RSS reader?
19:13 <mrqtros> Joey have done a great work under visual design of our app
19:13 <mrqtros> But it's still buggy :(
19:14 <mrqtros> I fixed few bug in this branch
19:14 <mhall119> has he added the new grid stuff into the app itself?
19:15 <mrqtros> Yep, now app works in "organic grid" mode
19:15 <mrqtros> This branch lp:~ubuntu-rssreader-dev/ubuntu-rssreader-app/alpha-release is our prepare to hack days
19:16 * mhall119 looks
19:16 <mhall119> mrqtros: why not trunk?
19:17 <mrqtros> still unstable, Joey created it, he decide :)
19:17 <mhall119> ah, ok
19:17 <mrqtros> And his code sometimes bad, a lot of temp solutions and commented useless blocks)
19:17 <mhall119> so it just needs cleanup and integration?
19:18 <mrqtros> Near to it, yes
19:19 <mhall119> cool
19:19 <mrqtros> But still have some problems, I hope Joey working on them
19:19 <mrqtros> He was encouraged to finish before hack days)
19:19 <mhall119> so I've been blogging about hack day goals for each app, can you guys send me a list early next week about what things new contributors could work on?
19:19 <mrqtros> And I am too ;)
19:19 <mrqtros> Ok, we will
19:20 <mrqtros> I wanted to implement topics management
19:20 <mrqtros> But I've met few problems with the toolkit components :(
19:21 <mrqtros> Look here
19:21 <mrqtros> http://design.canonical.com/2013/06/shorts-add-edit-share-adjust/
19:21 <mhall119> what problems?
19:22 <mrqtros> In "Edit topics" Lisette talking about expandable / collapsible sections
19:22 <mrqtros> But in current toolkit version similar functionality has only "ValueSelector" list item
19:23 <mrqtros> I can implement it myself, but it will be redundant work
19:23 <mhall119> hmmm, we should start filing bugs against ubuntu-ui-toolkit for anything design comes up with that we can't implement with existing components
19:24 <mrqtros> Because a lot of people may want to show some content in list view with expandable subitems
19:24 <mrqtros> exactly what Lisette want
19:24 <mrqtros> wants*
19:25 <mhall119> mrqtros: can you file bugs for those?
19:25 <mrqtros> I my opinion it's not hard to implement required control on basis of ValueSelector as option or separate control :)
19:26 <mrqtros> Ok, just provide me with link to correct bugtrack branch ;)
19:26 <mhall119> there was some work being done to start an "Extras" package for reusable components that aren't part of the SDK itself, I'll check on the status of that
19:26 <mhall119> file bugs on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ui-toolkit for now
19:27 <mrqtros> So now I will stop developing functionality, described in this article, and will start help Joey with hack days preparation
19:28 <mhall119> balloons: did you want to say anything about testing?
19:28 <balloons> :-) thinking abou tit
19:28 <mhall119> I see there are several test-related MPs against the rss reader
19:28 <balloons> So I'll repeat the couple things I said before to start. one is I'm continuing the drive for more folks to get involved, but your tests are already complete :-) The second is the official emulator hasn't yet landed, so there's nothing to change or take advantage of on that front yet
19:29 <balloons> bah.. rss reader still has tests to work on :-)
19:30 <balloons> so the big thing is this merge: https://code.launchpad.net/~carla-sella/ubuntu-rssreader-app/ubuntu-rssreader-test-add-view-feeds/+merge/173316
19:30 <mrqtros> Sry, I haven't additional free time to think about tests now, all forces in the development for a while :)
19:31 <balloons> carla has been working on getting some tests written, and there's been some humps to overcome. Just make sure your work items and bug lists are up to date for tests as we go is all
19:31 <mrqtros> Ok, looking it now
19:31 <balloons> and don't worry Carla will keep hacking on the testing side while you develop :-)
19:31 <mrqtros> I must approve it now? :)
19:33 <balloons> the merge request.. you don't have to approve it now. There's some recommended changes to be done, probably makes sense to iterate on it
19:33 <balloons> you can see there's been quite a bit comment log :-)
19:33 <mrqtros> Log is quite big ))
19:33 <balloons> yes.. So anyways, long story short. keep hacking, we'll keep going on tests
19:34 <balloons> as features get added, make sure a bug is opened to add a test for it
19:34 <balloons> that should be it :-)
19:34 <mhall119> also make sure previously passing tests don't fail after you make changes :)
19:35 <mrqtros> Tomorrow I will be on meeting finally! :)
19:35 <mhall119> mrqtros: cool, it might be useful to help the designers try out Joey's branch with the new grid stuff
19:36 <mhall119> mrqtros: alright, anything else you wanted to bring up today?
19:41 <mhall119> guess not
19:41 <mhall119> #endmeeting
