17:03 <popey> Who's here for the meeting?
17:03 * daliusd jumps
17:04 <popey>17:04 <popey> so, the usual links..
17:04 <popey> blueprint: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone-commons/+spec/initial-calculator-development
17:04 <popey> bugs: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calculator-app/+bugs
17:04 <popey> reviews: https://code.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calculator-app/+activereviews
17:05 <popey> how are things going?
17:05 <daliusd> OK
17:05 <daliusd> Riccardo took one bug he could fix
17:06 <daliusd> but it is silent from his side
17:06 <daliusd> dpm, triaged one defect - not sure what to do with it
17:06 <daliusd> and we don't have anymore defects
17:06 * dpm looks at Launchpad
17:06 <daliusd> autopilots had problems but are fixed (at least I see just one failure now)
17:06 <popey> there's the slow time on nexus 7 issue
17:07 <popey> and in fact it is slow on the nexus 4 too
17:07 <popey> it sometimes stalls during stopwatch and then "catches up"
17:07 <daliusd> em calculator meeting here :)
17:07 <popey> oh, wrong app
17:07 <popey> duhhh
17:07 * popey gets more coffee
17:07 * popey reboots
17:07 <daliusd> :D
17:07 * dpm hugs popey :)
17:07 <popey>17:08 <popey> wondered why I couldn't see the bug in the list ㋛
17:08 <dpm> daliusd, ah, I can take care of that bug, it's just a minor issue with i18n
17:08 <daliusd> dpm, thanks :)
17:08 <popey> dpm: did we talk about i18n with regards to chinese use?
17:08 <popey> (at meetings when i wasn't here)
17:09 <daliusd> design team last week showed some initial design
17:09 <daliusd> I believe that's it
17:09 <dpm> popey, no, we didn't, but basically I've been internationalizing all core app's and Bill's apps guys have been taking care of the rest
17:09 <dpm> and I'm organizing the community translations
17:10 <popey> As I understand it there are people in China who would like to demonstrate the apps to people over there.
17:10 <popey> Which is of course easier if it's all in simplified chinese
17:10 <dpm> daliusd, looking at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-calculator-app nearly all of them are "Fix committed". It might be worth going through the ones that should be "Fix released" and change their status. Souldn't take more than a few minutes
17:11 <dpm> I can also help with that, but you guys know best the state of each bug
17:12 <daliusd> dpm, I would mark them all fix released
17:12 <daliusd> but I'm not sure actually
17:12 <daliusd> Who makes releases? Is it automatic process?
17:13 <dpm> daliusd, as soon as they are on the PPA, they can be considered as released. Releases on the PPA happen daily automatically if there has been a change in the code.
17:13 <daliusd> OK. In that case I will mark them all fix released
17:14 <dpm> popey, actually, that's a good question, how is the core apps PPA synced to the daily images?
17:14 <dpm> great, thanks daliusd
17:14 <popey> not sure what you mean by "sync"
17:14 <popey> do you mean "does the ppa build first then the image?"
17:15 <popey> or do you mean "how do the apps get into the image?"
17:16 <dpm> the second :)
17:17 <popey> the build is done in the datacentre, and has the main core apps listed in the seed, and the ppa, so it pulls directly from the ppa, but only specific apps
17:18 <popey> the build generally starts at ~6:30 UTC and finishes by 08:30 UTC
17:18 <popey> but there was an issue this morning and the build didnt happen
17:18 <popey> whenever I have flashed the device and then ssh'ed in and "apt-get update / upgrade" I never get a new build from the PPA
17:19 <popey> which says to me the image always has latest
17:19 <dpm> popey, excellent, that makes it clear, thanks
17:19 <dpm> daliusd, so the rule of thumb is that the images are updated daily with the latest calculator trunk
17:19 <daliusd> OK
17:21 <popey> yes, that's it in one line ☻
17:22 <popey> great.
17:22 <popey> anything else we needed to discuss?
17:22 <daliusd> I believe we covered everything :)
17:23 <popey> dpm: anything from you?
17:24 <dpm> I don't think I had anything else, other than great work as usual, and we should be getting visual designs soon
17:24 <popey> yeah, very soon
17:24 <daliusd> About visual design
17:25 <daliusd> Do we have any instructions how to theme ubuntu apps?
17:25 <daliusd> I can simply use my QML knowledge
17:25 <daliusd> but in case
17:25 <daliusd> ...
17:25 <daliusd> I already see some problems overall :-)
17:26 <popey> Good question, not sure actually.
17:27 <popey> if there are specific gaps in the sdk, those can be raised with the sdk team..
17:29 <daliusd> Maybe they have thought about future problems
17:29 <daliusd> and already have something to propose
17:29 <daliusd> e.g. if we will have custom background
17:29 <daliusd> and different aspect ratios
17:29 <popey> yeah, these are questions to raise either on list or in #ubuntu-touch with kaleo, bzoltan, saviq and other sdk people..
17:30 <daliusd> OK
17:30 <daliusd> Let's wait what design team will provice
17:30 <popey> be good to have that conversation on the list where other core apps devs can see it
17:31 <daliusd> *provide
17:31 <daliusd> and react accordingly
17:31 <popey> but yes, once you have the design, that would be sane ☻
17:31 <popey> ok, lets wrap up..
17:31 <popey> thanks for the awesome work as always ☻
