15:39 <willcooke> #topic flexiondotorg
15:39 <willcooke> hold tight, big copy & paste coming
15:39 <willcooke> Time appropriate greetings!
15:39 <willcooke> - Joined the Dell webcast: "Ubuntu Linux | Basic functionality and
15:39 <willcooke> Installation" to see what they had to say. "Huge interest and demand
15:39 <willcooke> in Ubuntu from our customers"
15:39 <willcooke> - They even explained how to install/configure dual booting UBuntu
15:39 <willcooke> and Windows on computers sold by Dell that shipped only Windows.
15:39 <willcooke> - Advised to disable SecureBoot.
15:39 <willcooke> - Identified ~400 Electron apps for snap outreach.
15:39 <willcooke> - Talked to upstream electron-builder to get some remaining issues
15:39 <willcooke> squashed when making snaps.
15:39 <willcooke> - electron-builder (used widely for building cross-platform
15:39 <willcooke> electron apps) is now making snaps reliably.
15:39 <willcooke> - Created PoC snap for Brave.
15:39 <willcooke> - Created a PoC snap for Skype for Linux Alpha.
15:39 <willcooke> - In touch with the Skype team.
15:39 <willcooke> - They attempted snapping Skype last year and ran into issues.
15:39 <willcooke> - They've sent over the issue list and I'm seeing if any issues
15:39 <willcooke> still remain.
15:39 <willcooke> - Tested snapd and snapcraft on Ubuntu 14.04, bugs raised.
15:39 <willcooke> - Tested Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Linux Lite,
15:39 <willcooke> elementary, Linux Mint,Zorin,KDE Neon and Arch Linux for snap
15:39 <willcooke> compatibility, bugs raised and distro maintainers contacted where
15:39 <willcooke> required.
15:39 <willcooke> - Raised a bug regarding Media Key support in strictly confined snaps.
15:40 <willcooke> Thanks to _didrocks and _seb128. FIxes committed last night by
15:40 <willcooke> _jdstrand.
15:40 <willcooke> - ISO Testing
15:40 <willcooke> - Had a call with Hyper, an electron terminal application.
15:40 <willcooke> - Snapped Hyper by enabling snaps in their electron-builder configuration.
15:40 <willcooke> - Pull request submitted upstream.
15:40 <willcooke> 🎬
15:40 <willcooke> #topic hikiko
15:40 <hikiko> hi

15:40 <willcooke> #topic Laney
15:41 <Laney> sup
15:41 <Laney> let's just take a breath
15:42 <Laney> in and out
15:42 <Laney> ok, that'll do
15:42 <willcooke> :D
15:42 <Laney> • Debugged / fixed a 'no password' bug in unity-control-center, uploaded that (& a branch for Robert)
15:42 <Laney> • Fixed emacs24 build failure which was blocking stuff. Forwarded that to Debian. 25 is still broken differently & others are looking at that
15:42 <Laney> • Fixed gst-libav regression in x-updates & upstream, waiting in -proposed now
15:42 <Laney> • Tried to push on u-a-l switching to upstart, hopefully being worked on now
15:42 <Laney> • Shared my work on gnome-software 3.24 & made a proposal about branch organisation
15:42 <Laney> • Debian updates: gdk-pixbuf & glib2.0
15:42 <Laney> • No big work on autopkgtest or appstream this week, just babysitting
15:42 <Laney> • Some sponsoring reviews
15:42 <Laney> • Found out `nova boot' doesn't work on Zesty (at least against Canonistack) - bisected and filed a bug.
15:42 <Laney> • 💑
15:42 <Laney> 🐭
15:42 <willcooke> thanks Laney
15:42 <willcooke> <bunch of flowers>
15:42 <willcooke> #opic qengho

15:43 <qengho> * Cr beta updates.
15:43 <qengho> * Cr stable, fixing assert heap-freeing crashes on one machine. Not present on same-architecture other machine. Weeird.
15:43 <qengho> * ♥

15:43 <willcooke> thanks qengho
15:43 <willcooke> #topic seb128
15:43 <seb128> sorry just wiped out my notes instead of copying
15:43 <seb128> can we go back to me in a minute?
15:43 <willcooke> :) sure
15:43 <willcooke> #topic Sweet5hark
15:43 <Sweet5hark> - that Munich thing
15:43 <Sweet5hark> - some TDF admin wrt to contractors
15:43 <Sweet5hark> - 5.3.0 upload for zesty before ff (thx jbicha and seb128)
15:43 <Sweet5hark> - autopkgtests fix for zesty, fixed the firebird issues
15:43 <Sweet5hark> - some upstream refactoring
15:43 <Sweet5hark> EOF
15:44 <willcooke> thanks Sweet5hark, good luck with Munich
15:44 <willcooke> #topic TheMuso
15:44 <willcooke> * More testing pulse in xenial with latest bluez from zesty, various patches added/removed, etc. I am unable to consistantly use the bluetooth earbuds I have on hand. Both devices support multiple profiles, and neither profile always works, adn things behave differently again if I use different bluetooth controllers. Still not at the point where I feel I have a set of patches that can be backported from pulseaudio upstream to help
15:44 <willcooke> with bluetooth matters.
15:44 <willcooke> * Managed to sort out the race condition I was seeing with unity-panel-service and at-spi. The solution I've gone with for now is similar to what was used back when we used upstart for user session management, in that I added a service for at-spi for the unity 7 systemd target.
15:44 <willcooke> * Spent time testing an at-spi patch from usptream which is attempting to resolve a crash that can occur when exiting an app like GEdit. Its intermitant, so not sure if the patch has done the trick yet.
15:44 <willcooke> * Found some possible issues with my gsettings backend for Orca, so spent time tracking those down. Fixes not yet worked out, so that is next.
15:44 <willcooke> #topic Trevinho
15:44 <seb128> he's out today
15:44 <willcooke> ah yeah, thanks seb128
