15:32 <seb128> :-)
15:32 <seb128> ok, let's get rolling
15:32 <seb128> #topic andyrock
15:32 <seb128> andyrock, hey
15:33 <andyrock> hey
15:34 <andyrock> so my week
15:34 <andyrock> * reviewed Trevinho's MP
15:34 <andyrock> * reviewing the patch proposed by a community guy to improve search and launch of application from the dash
15:35 <andyrock> \eow
15:35 <andyrock> I should finish the review today or maximum tomorrow
15:35 <andyrock> then I'll move to supporto "startup notification" in the dash
15:36 <seb128> k
15:36 <seb128> thanks andyrock
15:36 <seb128> #topic attente
15:36 <seb128> attente, hey
15:37 <attente> hi all
15:37 <attente> spent the week debugging and fixing the apparmor dconf and kernel patches which went stale due to upstream changes and submitted it to the mailing list, also think i might've found a kernel bug that should be easily fixable
15:37 <attente> revisiting the popup menu refactoring stuff in gtk
15:37 <attente> (eof)
15:37 <desrt> attente: try to get in good with the kernel guys... i have a few more patches you can write when you're finished with these ones =)
15:37 <attente> desrt: apparmor related or ...?
15:38 <desrt> inotify, etc. :)
15:38 <seb128> attente, hide!
15:38 <desrt> you know... simple stuff
15:38 <desrt> *cough*
15:38 <attente> rofl. i guess not like the off-by-one error i found...
15:38 <desrt> in security code?
15:38 <attente> rhashtable code
15:38 <desrt> cute.
15:39 <seb128> :-)
15:39 <seb128> thanks attente!
15:39 <attente> thanks seb128!
15:39 <seb128> I hope they are going to like the patches this time
15:39 <seb128> next
15:39 <seb128> #topic desrt
15:40 <seb128> desrt, hey
15:40 <desrt> hi
15:40 <desrt> working on the dconf/gsettings stuff still
15:40 <desrt> preparing a dconf release for today which will not break things
15:40 <desrt> following that will be a glib release that will not break things (later in the week)
15:40 <seb128> finger crossed!
15:40 <desrt> after that, i think there is probably going to be some breakage
15:40 <seb128> fingers even
15:40 <seb128> haha
15:40 <desrt> the gsettingsbackend interface is going to change in an incompatable way so there will need to be a lockstep upgrade between dconf and glib at some point
15:40 <seb128> I see
15:41 <desrt> i _may_ be able to preserve compatibility across the upgrade but i'm not sure it's worth it
15:41 <Laney> "will" is a good word
15:41 <desrt> considering this has always been considered a private interface and there is only one out-of-tree implementation of it
15:41 <seb128> well, as long as you don't break anything existing users along the way...
15:41 <desrt> it's only the backend interface that's changing
15:41 <desrt> so ya... i'll sync up again when i know a bit more about exactly how it will go down
15:41 <seb128> k
15:42 <desrt> \end{week}
15:42 <seb128> thanks desrt!
15:42 <seb128> #topic dgadomski
15:42 <seb128> dgadomski, hey
15:42 <dgadomski> hey
15:42 <dgadomski> Sorry, I don't have anything in particular to share this week. I was busy with non-desktop stuff.
15:42 <dgadomski> thank you
15:42 <seb128> no worry
15:42 <seb128> thanks dgadomski
15:42 <seb128> #topic didrocks
15:42 <seb128> didrocks, hey :-)
15:42 <didrocks> hey!
15:42 <didrocks> Ubuntu Make:
15:42 <didrocks> - released Ubuntu Make 15.12 (features below).
15:42 <didrocks> - jetbrains changed its website breaking us. Consequently, adapt to new jetbrains' website (after some poking, they are using client-side javascript), so found their API rather and using this which should be more stable. Adapt medium tests assets for this as well, fake certificates, as all IDEs based on it.
15:42 <didrocks> - close the too many bugs opened (even after the fix) on this ^ :)
15:42 <didrocks> - merged an external contributor's update to Unity3D. Fixe medium tests to work with this.
15:42 <didrocks> - some cleanage on beautifulsoup warnings on xenial.
15:42 <didrocks> Misc:
15:42 <didrocks> - uploaded plymouth, and adapting all flavors community themes to it. Did some post-upload fixes. Still one flavor bug to fix (but know, understanding the issue).
15:43 <didrocks> - registering Google Code In tasks and spent quite some time mentoring. We had one fix on unity in for now, 2 are in a good progress state, some will need more work…
15:43 <didrocks> - worked on language support, fixup missing packages in some locales.
15:43 <didrocks> - some AA duties like reviewed geonames, promoting/demoting some packages
15:43 <didrocks> - MIR duties (a bunch of s390-related reviews + geonames)
15:43 <didrocks> .
15:43 <seb128> good week didrocks! (as usual ;-)
15:43 <didrocks> thx ;)
15:44 <seb128> thanks for the MIRs
15:44 <Laney> MIR team is the best team
15:44 <seb128> see the love :-)
15:44 <seb128> ok, next
15:44 <desrt> mir team?
15:44 <Laney> that's Mir
15:45 <seb128> desrt, the one that review things that go in main
15:45 <didrocks> (yw on the MIR, but more people would be very welcomed ;))
15:45 <seb128> #topic FJKong
15:45 <desrt> seb128: i know ;)
15:45 <seb128> FJKong, hey
15:45 <FJKong> heyu
15:45 <FJKong> hey
15:45 <seb128> desrt, I see what you did :p
15:45 <FJKong> sogou IM bug tracking:

15:45 <FJKong> other:
15:45 <FJKong> 4 trying building QtWebkit but not goes well.
15:45 <FJKong> eof]
15:45 <seb128> what's the issue with qtwebkit? and why do you need to build it?
15:46 <FJKong> oh, I just want to try, for wechat
15:46 <qengho> FJKong: I might be of assistance.
15:46 <FJKong> qengho: nice
15:47 <FJKong> let talk about it later
15:47 <seb128> ok
15:47 <seb128> I guess you can talk outside the meeting then
15:47 <seb128> thanks FJKong
15:47 <seb128> #topic happyaron
15:47 <seb128> happyaron, hey? you sent me your summary so I guess not there ...

15:49 <seb128> Laney, hey
15:49 <Laney> hi

15:49 <Laney> • debug some s390x issues, fix some but mainly pass them over to my mentee xnox
15:49 <Laney> • some fixes for mono transition, to debian and ubuntu
15:49 <Laney> • start working on gstreamer
15:49 <Laney> • some small fixes for geonames including LP project admin, found an LP bug while doing that
15:49 <Laney>15:50 * didrocks wonders if he shouldn't /nick dbus to get a massage from Laney
15:50 <Laney> you want a massage?
15:50 <seb128> haha
15:50 <qengho> Ew.
15:50 <seb128> from crucher?!
15:50 <Laney> that can be arranged
15:50 <Laney> step over to my private room
15:50 <didrocks> ahah :)

15:51 <seb128> enjoy the music! :-)
15:51 <seb128> thanks Laney
15:51 <desrt> is this why we don't have sprints anymore? :)
15:51 * Laney is reminded of ally mcbeal

15:52 <seb128> qengho, hey
15:52 <qengho> Hi hi.
15:52 <qengho> Just one thing.
15:53 <qengho> * Working on new upstream chromium release & xdg-utils
15:53 <seb128> ah, I was going to ask about xdg-utils
15:53 <seb128> saw that it still didn't get an upload
15:53 <seb128> let us know when you need sponsoring review again
15:53 <qengho> Yeah. It should be easy. I'll ask for sponsor tomorrow.
15:54 <Laney> theeeeeere's no way they could have made two
15:54 <qengho> Er, not upstream again.
15:54 <qengho> Just my dist patches.
15:54 <seb128> Laney, :-)
15:55 <seb128> qengho, well, that's the one didrocks reviewed and asked you to rebase on the archive upload right?
15:55 <seb128> or the debian update
15:55 <qengho> Yes.
15:55 <seb128> k
15:55 <seb128> well, let us know when it's ready for a new review round

15:56 <seb128> </week>
15:56 <didrocks> oh gtkhtml is gone for good!
15:56 <seb128> yep!
15:56 <didrocks> nice :-)
15:56 <seb128> evo using webkit now even for composing ;-)
15:57 <Laney> my shotwell patches to port to wk2 got pushed
15:57 <didrocks> one less parser duplication in distro :)
15:57 <seb128> ok, next is ...
15:57 <seb128> #topic Sweet5hark1
15:57 <didrocks> (10 more to come ;))
15:57 <seb128> Sweet5hark1, hey!
15:57 <Laney> going to look at the state of that again after holidays
15:58 <seb128> Laney, oh, they did? I though it was an "inspiration" patch but not a fully working version?
15:58 <seb128> it means shotwell has a new maintainer as well?
15:58 <Laney> there were a few tweaks but seems like it was mostly ok
15:59 <Laney> nah, just someone wanting to get stuff off webkit1
15:59 <seb128> k
15:59 <seb128> no Sweet5hark1 again I guess...
16:00 <seb128> k, seems not
16:00 <seb128> #topic tkamppeter
16:00 <seb128> tkamppeter, hey
16:00 <tkamppeter> - cups-filters: Released 1.4.0 upstream with
16:00 <tkamppeter> - Support for Braille printers via CUPS
16:00 <tkamppeter> - Security fix in foomatic-rip
16:00 <tkamppeter> - cups-filters: Packaged and commited to Debian GIT repo.
16:00 <tkamppeter> - Committed fix for /etc/init/cups.override on the phone as merge proposal to lxc-android-config
16:00 <tkamppeter> - MIR for openjpeg (Ghostscript/Poppler) will be done by Security team end of January.
16:00 <tkamppeter> - Question: The Braille support in cups-filters needs liblouisutdml-bin which is in Universe (needs MIR and I do not know whether Security team has still a slot for 16.04) and perhaps more MIRs for dependencies. Should I separate Braill as optional binary package? Or should we do the MIRs?
16:01 <tkamppeter> - Bugs.
16:01 <seb128> tkamppeter, is that a build-time requirement or only runtime?
16:03 <seb128> ok, let's discuss that after the meeting
16:03 <seb128> I don't know how much that feature is requested
16:04 <seb128> but it's probably not something we need on the default installation/main
16:04 <seb128> universe supported splitted out would probably be good enough
16:04 <seb128> tkamppeter, thanks
16:04 <seb128> #topic other topics?
16:04 <seb128> (sorry I don't have status updates from others, willcooke didn't fwd me those)
16:04 <Trevinho> seb128: /me
16:05 <seb128> arg
16:05 <seb128> sorry
16:05 <Trevinho> np
16:05 <seb128> #topic Trevinho

16:05 <seb128> (sorry I worked from the previous week list where you were on national holidays)
16:06 <seb128> gconf removed from compiz \o/
16:06 <Laney> good joke
16:06 <Laney> would chuckle at again
16:06 * Sweet5hark1 is late
16:07 * seb128 didn't get the joke (I think?)
16:07 <seb128> thanks Trevinho
16:07 <Laney> he escaped some quotes
16:07 <seb128> ha!
16:07 <seb128> he seems to know his public :p
16:08 <seb128> now with compiz off the gconf list we are getting close from being able to ship the LTS without it on the iso
16:08 <seb128> Sweet5hark1 promissed an updated libreoffice
16:09 <Sweet5hark1> libreoffice 5.1 has no gconf upstream.
16:09 <seb128> apturl needs fixing
16:09 <seb128> and aisleriot can be dropped I guess
16:09 <seb128> I'm going to fix apturl
16:09 <seb128> #topic Sweet5hark1
16:09 <seb128> hey, since you are there, you might have an update? ;-)
16:10 <Sweet5hark1> - snappifying libreoffice:
16:10 <Sweet5hark1> - got a build finished with some hacks from hell
16:10 <Sweet5hark1> - some tests still fail, install not tested yet
16:10 <Sweet5hark1> - its still huge
16:10 <Sweet5hark1> EOF
16:10 <seb128> thanks Sweet5hark1
16:11 <seb128> since you mentioned 5.1 before, what's the status of that one?
16:11 <seb128> when do you expect to see it landing in xenial?
16:11 <ricotz> next week ;P
16:12 <Sweet5hark1> seb128: as per upstream schedule https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan#5.1_release
16:12 <Sweet5hark1> seb128: we already have the current beta in the ppa for xenial
16:12 <seb128> Sweet5hark1, well, our versions tracker shows that Debian has it in experimental
16:12 <Laney> seb128 is allergic to red lines
16:13 <Sweet5hark1> seb128: do you want to dump a beta to xenial?
16:13 <seb128> Ahchoo
16:13 <ricotz> please no
16:13 <Sweet5hark1> seb128: note that betas do not even have l10n
16:13 <seb128> ricotz, why not?
16:13 <ricotz> the RC1 seems reasonable though
16:14 <ricotz> seb128, we just have beta 1 in the ppa
16:14 <seb128> Sweet5hark1, I trust you, whenever you think is right
16:14 <Sweet5hark1> seb128: yeah. not yet ;)
16:14 <seb128> anyway, no need to block the meeting on that dicussion
16:14 <seb128> thanks Sweet5hark1
16:14 <ricotz> and this is kind of a critical element to use ;)
16:14 <seb128> #topic other topics
16:14 <seb128> ricotz, yeah, it's also an unstable distro
16:14 <seb128> not a production one
16:15 <seb128> we don't want to make things not work
16:15 <seb128> but we also want early feedback and not being overconservative
16:15 <Laney> last meeting of the year
16:15 <Laney> happy holidays!
16:15 <ricotz> (I know, still there are reasons for it to be beta ;P)
16:15 <seb128> indeed, I was going to say
16:15 <didrocks> who is there next week?
16:15 <didrocks> o/
16:15 <seb128> happy holidays everyone!
16:15 <ricotz> hohoho
16:16 <didrocks> here*
16:16 <Laney> didrocks: you are?
16:16 <didrocks> yep
16:16 <Laney> going to be quiet for you I think :)
16:16 <didrocks> seems so :)
16:16 * Laney will watch your webcam to make sure you are working
16:17 <didrocks> Laney: guess which finger am I showing up to you right now? :)
16:17 <Laney> thumb
16:17 <didrocks> I am*
16:17 <Laney> pointing upwards
16:17 <didrocks> sure sure :)
16:17 <seb128> from hr.c.c there are not so many people off
16:17 <didrocks> many other didn't set it in the calendar or are not reading the meeting :)
16:17 <Laney> the mail said assume everyone is off
16:17 <seb128> robert&luke&laney&attente&sweetshark&willcooke&me
16:17 <Laney> so I guess that at least means there is no meeting
16:18 <seb128> right
16:18 <seb128> no meeting
16:18 <desrt> fascinating
16:18 <seb128> but it seems half the team is still working
16:18 <desrt> see you all next year :)
16:18 * Laney group hug
16:18 <seb128> ok, let's wrap on that
16:18 <seb128> #endmeeting
