15:47 <willcooke> awesome, thanks hikiko
15:47 <willcooke> #topic willcooke
15:48 <willcooke> This week I have mostly been getting some thoughts together on 16.04
15:48 <willcooke> So as we know (I hope) 16.04 Desktop will be a deb based Unity 7 LTS
15:49 <willcooke> \o/
15:49 <willcooke> Our team need to make this the best release ever, so lots of focus on quality, maintainability and hopefully finding time to add some new features
15:50 <willcooke> One of the first jobs will be to get a list of bugs we want fixed
15:50 <seb128> +1
15:50 <willcooke> In U7, Compiz, and elsewhere in the platform
15:50 <seb128> that's not only for unity
15:50 <willcooke> :)
15:50 <seb128> I noticed some on the way while triaging other components, unsure how to tag/mark them
15:50 <Laney> rls-w-incoming
15:50 <Laney> although that report is broken atm
15:50 <willcooke> I was using 16.04-hit-list, but Laney pointed me at that ^^
15:51 <Laney> I pinged bdmurray about it
15:51 <seb128> those are the ones the release team care about though
15:51 <willcooke> should we not use X incoming?
15:51 <seb128> not our own wishlist
15:51 <seb128> no?
15:51 <Laney> they don't use it
15:51 <Laney> and it has a report working already
15:51 <Laney> so might as well imho
15:51 <seb128> k
15:51 <didrocks> as long they the release team don't consider them blockers as in the past, it's fine
15:51 <Laney> don't know if X is working atm
15:52 <willcooke> It gives us a convenient incoming queue, which we can then triage and move to another "will work on queue"
15:52 <Laney> we could either get that set up or use W and try to fix some for 15.10 then move the rest later
15:52 <willcooke> it should be easy enough to move them over once it's open
15:52 <willcooke> Laney, +1
15:53 <seb128> +1 as well
15:53 <willcooke> I would also like to ask community members to help us organise that list, suggest things which should be worked on, work on code, etc
15:53 <willcooke> So I'm trying to find a good mechanism to do that
15:53 <willcooke> G+ polls - urgh
15:54 <willcooke> Some Wordpress plugin for voting - urgh
15:54 <Laney> hmm
15:54 <willcooke> I wonder if LP can help us with that?
15:54 <Laney> if you like triaging queues then just say anyone can use the tag
15:54 <willcooke> and also, we don't just want a big free for all, so it will take some managing
15:55 <seb128> we can use tag + maybe serie nomination as a way to acl control those?
15:55 <willcooke> the tag works for me. And if it turns out we get a bazillion bugs, then we'll have to work out something else
15:55 <Laney> otherwise... you can set up a project on LP and get people to 'also affects' bugs to that
15:56 <Laney> I think that the workflow is that you nominate to the series to 'accept' the bug
15:56 <didrocks> I wonder if the tools that I built some years ago and design used may be useful
15:56 <didrocks> with a master task
15:56 <Laney> then it goes -incoming -> rls-w-bugs
15:57 <Laney> there was an email from slangasek I think to an internal list a couple of years ago
15:57 <Laney> but I couldn't find it the other day
15:57 <seb128> about those tags?
15:57 <willcooke> ok, I'll have a play with the options in LP and see which is easiest
15:58 <willcooke> if you guys can try it out as well and let me know what you think we can reach an agreement
15:58 <didrocks> I'm happy to present the system I put in place for design (and the unity team) at the time if needed
15:58 <Laney> yeah
15:58 <didrocks> (they are still using it 4 years later and I maintain the backend from time to time, so it should work… :p)
15:58 <willcooke> and then we can publicise the plans on mailing list, G+, FB I guess
15:58 <willcooke> thanks didrocks, let's look at that in our 1:1 this week
15:58 <didrocks> sure
15:59 <willcooke> and if seb128, Laney anyone - you want to see it as well, I'll comment here and you can join the HO
15:59 <seb128> Laney, "Bug tracking for 12.10" on the platform list on june 2012
15:59 <seb128> ubuntu-platform@
15:59 <seb128> linked to https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/other-q-release-bug-list-workflows
16:00 <Laney> looks like I lost the archive of that list
16:00 <seb128> I can fwd that email to you if you want
16:00 <seb128> but the blueprint should summarize it
16:01 <seb128> fwded in any case
16:01 <willcooke> seb128, can I get a copy too?
16:01 <seb128> willcooke, done
16:01 <willcooke> thx
16:02 <willcooke> let's continue this discussion over the next week or so
16:02 <willcooke> and move to wrap the meeting
16:02 <willcooke> #topic AOB
16:02 <willcooke> Any other business?
