please consider a method of doing things (such as installing software) that <deleted>directly supported by Ubuntu first, and only resort to alternative route (such as !PPA packages, or installing software from source) if you're reasonably sure it's the only way to achieve the wanted goal. When you're helping others, suggest the standard route first, and provide the appropriate disclaimers about non-standard ones. LjL
